  1. Interested to see this reply as well, sharks and whales, um ya
  2. One that note, are there any tri clubs in the southern suburbs (of cpt )
  3. Never knew this, always walk past the one standing at surfers corner
  4. I don't do much road cycling but I think I will give it a tri with the week of the argus, ie swim 3 days before the argus and run 3 days after. Will be good prep for the oceans half as well as that would be 3 weeks away. Shot for the suggestions.
  5. Thanx for that and I concur: one is able to do more. If I may ask, what did your 7 months contain ito training?
  6. Starting to eye a 70.3 maybe next year What would you folks say is a good litmus test to be able to complete lets say East London's 70.3. Something along the lines of you should be able to swim x, cycle y and run z. And please not x= 1.9km,y=90km, z=21.1km . What would you say a realistic training goal to reach would be. Also, is something like the xterra full a good test or is it that x2? I know everyone is different, but just trying to get a feel for what it would take if that's possible.
  7. Anybody know where we can get the route profiles for the lite and full. I have already emailed stillwater sports as the pics on their site is a leeetle small.
  8. Skipped last years light and hopefully back to do the lite on sunday. Anyone doing this this year?
  9. Um about that wildcard thing, do you mean activity card? Cause my mistake the first time was getting a wild card and then being told at tokai that I needed an activity card?
  10. Anyone have a google map with some pin points of what is open and what is not?
  11. No need to switch it off, just point it down onto your wheel if you can. Helps the whole group
  12. Hehehe, not quite Yep forgot to mention, as pointed out by No Hare, the light facing the rear and on strobe mode. Even cars wanting to turn left, instead of dashing ahead of you and cutting you off tended to slow down and let you continue straight.
  13. I haven't read all 117 pages so I don't know if it has been discussed before, but thought I'd put my observation here. I sometimes commute about 5km down the main rd btw plumstead and tokai in cape town. I've noticed a distinct difference in clearance from vehicles after I took my bicycle light off my handle bars and strapped it to my seat post, facing slightly down and on strobe mode.
  14. So after holding out for a very long time, I eventually got this platform rack 2nd hand at a good price. http://www.roofrackworld.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/HF2131-Portfolio-630x250.jpg First impressions is that is quite light and my bike fits on ok. Few issues though, its not as stable as I would have hoped. My bike moved around quite a bit and I think it has to do with the center post not being able to be locked into the vertical position and my lack of tying skills . Basically the center mast holds up the bike but the bike also holds the mast up. Is there anyone else with the rack that can tell me if this is this how its supposed to be? Also if it was only a few cm shorter it could fit in my boot, but that's just me being picky. All in all for the price its more than ok, just wish I could secure that center post.
  15. TaahirWP and the other guys recommending BNB bike rack, thats exactly what I would be after, except that you can't find it anyhere Either that or my googling sucks
  16. Yoh thats cheap hey. Makro site doesn;t have it anymore, def something i would have opted for.
  17. How stable is it if you peeking in your review mirror?
  18. I know there are quite a few rack freds about but bike rack options, sorry to add. I've just sold my Thule Boot Clip on rack 9103 or something as Im getting a vehicle with a towbar. Don't have the cash to get a platform rack which is what I ultimately want so will have to settle for one of these Thule Express 970 2 bike for R1400 BuzzRack Gazelle 2 bike for R1150 Thule Hangon 974 3 bike for R2100 Thule Hangon 972 3 bike for R2400 (tiltable) BuzzRack Antelope 3 bike for R2200 (Tiltable and lockable) My budget already stretched at R2k, any opinions on the models above?
  19. Feels the same I've tested in said fashion across our lounge
  20. I went for this for my daughter as an xmas pressie courtesy of that awesome cwc sale. Will be interesting to see how she progresses from the ybike pewi below to this. Shes also 2 and a bit.http://www.ybike.ee/images/ybike-pewi-04.jpg.
  21. Anyone know where you get those specialized helmets for kids?
  22. I like this one except for the batteries bit, just me being picky huh? iPhone :(
  23. I suffer from hypertension and am currently on a 3rd different type of tablet to bring my bp down. The previous ones either made me cough too much or too tired. I feel that I need to step up the monitoring though, I've been using the gym's machine to measure it which was handy because it automatically logged it on the virginactive website. Problem is I have not been hitting the gym often enough, sooo long story short is, do you get a bp machine that I can use where ever and then upload the data to an app and what/where can i get it?
  24. Anyone have any advice on where to send my watch to get its battery replaced. Its a cheapy sigma digital watch with hr monitor. I would do it but it kind of still needs to be water proof afterwards Any suggestions in cpt cbd?
  25. I'm also in the midst of needing to get new tyres for my 29er. Current knoblies are not agressive enough. I'm not tubeless and don't plan on changing anytime soon. I was looking at the Specialized Ground Control Sport, would this be an ok tyre to get?
