My first one and loved it ... missed my target of sub 4 by 4 minutes. Only 172 days before entries open for 2015. Had a weird whirlwind that slapped me a bit after suikerbossie, with dust, palm leaves and small branches flying around me.

Looks like we are going to enjoy some "stronger" winds ...
  3. Maybe they are still confused with zim dollars? I mean at Amazon it costs only between $200 to $400 ...
  4. Are we now talking about wantitall or thisiswhyimbroke Amazon does work out cheaper in most of the cases I have encountered compared to wantitall. I think it boils down to just do a bit of google and homework. Wantitall is still in business after a few years so they are probably able to sucker quite a few people ....
  5. I recently did a comparison to buy some cleat protectors ... Their price: http://www.wantitall.co.za/Look-KEO-Road-Bike-Cleat-Cover-6007196300__B000UDBLQO Price out there: http://www.buycycle.co.za/components/road-en-2/cleats-en-2/look-en-2-3-4-5-6/look-keo-cleat-protecter-look.html http://www.leadout.co.za/products/look-keo-cover I emailed them and they confirmed this is their price even with the other links as comparison. Not the first time I have seen how overpriced they are but this one is a bit sickening .
  6. Certainly not trying to sound materialistic but I do feel to give credit to the organizers. I just want to complement the organizers on a very nice goodie bag supplied. Even pins in the envelope. If this is how it starts, I have high hopes for the race itself Guys that did the Berge and Dale would know what I am talking about when I say that their organisers can certainly learn a few things here. Know it is difficult and a cut-through business but the little things does make a difference.
  7. Must admit that it was also a bit of a bummer for me. With the price of petrol these days ... that is one expensive piece of paper to go and pick up. Maybe a proper goodie bag may have soothed but that was not there also Anyway back at GL in the starting line ... viewing it as a good exercise session and maybe up my seeding.

Any pointers on getting ones bike there, other than taking it with one on the flight etc. I have heard of people specifically loading and taking the bikes down from GP to CT.
  10. Well I'm one of those "believe strongly that the helmet has “saved their life"", according to http://cyclehelmets.org/. There can be a lot of arguments around this but I can tell you when you dive head first into a rock garden ... and you have a look at your helmet in the aftermath ... thank goodness something was strapped to my head
  11. Thank you for the feedback will certainly go and have a look thanks
  12. Lost a bit of track with this thread ... is there still any options to improve ones seeding this late? Back in GG and a bit worried being out so late in the heat ... Any tips will help ... and above board of course
  13. I had a look at some of the profile recordings on Strava. Assuming it is the same route, then will be quite a nice flat race.
  14. Hey there, thanks for a great ride and certainly was worth it. Will certainly see if I can fall in for next week Wednesday
  15. I will join you guys at 17:30 if you don't mind It looks like quite a bit of fun.
