  1. I go to spinning classes. the setup of a spin bike is not the same as my bike and I'm to lazy to take a tape measure to gym to get it right, if I will ever get it right. We got a couple of Wattbikes in our gym now and I'm keen to try it.
  2. Found this interesting article http://decaironman-training.com/2013/12/12/why-indoor-cycling-is-winning-kona-tour-de-france-olympic-gold-medals/?goback=%2Egde_73142_member_5816825293712670722#%21
  3. A video with a goal to help raise awareness of cycling safety so we all can return to the ones we love unharmed. Please share this video… a few seconds can save a cyclist's...
  4. http://jhb.criticalmass.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/318012_10151207916666437_376618191_n.jpg Critical mass JHB http://bicycledutch.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/protest1979.jpg Cycling protest tour 1979, Amsterdam There is a substantive difference between the Netherlands and South Africa with respect to cycling. This difference is in the pictures. In the Netherlands cycling was never the exclusive domain of a tribe wearing funny clothes helmets, riding racing and/or specialised bicycles, stressing speed, weight, fitness. This tribe branding of cycling is unfortunately now the case. Governments and general public think and discuss cycling mainly using this tribal paradigm. Substantive changes in political will require a view of cycling as a normal day-to-day activity. Any efforts that counter the tribe view should be supported. So on the next critical mass we must not dress in our funny cloves. We must look like the Dutch in the second photo.
  5. He Is to lazy!!! He will just sit in a chariot and get someone else to do the hard work and pay him with public funds
  6. This short history lesson provides an overview of a way that a small part of the world found the political will to change in a very substantial way, in a very short time. IMHO, the problem of finding the 'political will' to make meaningful changes may not be as hard as it has appeared. But holding focus on a clear and popular goal and stage-managing via a sequence of achievable objectives seems to be part of the formula for large-scale successes like this one. Until the South African cyclists band together as one cohesive group and demand changes, the slaughter will continue.
  7. I have just found this on twitter. If you haven't been keeping up to date with this developing story, back in 2012 Chris McCormack called Lance Armstrong out to race from this tweet it is confirmed. http://decaironmantraining.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/lance-armstrong-ironman-race.jpg

I'd like to get road bike! But then I like my MTB....! Promote cycling among my friends and business associates. To ride somewhere new once or twice a month Do The Kia Over the Moon MTB Series every month next year
  12. Saw the interview on supercycling last week Think its a great idea. Only problem you have to use their smart phone app. Battery life can be a problem with GPS enabled. You cant use your Garmin to download your rides to their site.
  13. The equation p = mv, is used in physics. It is used to evaluate objects in motion. The 'p' in the equation is equal to momentum and the 'm' represents mass. The 'v' in the equation represents velocity.
  14. That's just a basic formula that's why I posted the link where there is mush more science involved
  15. The basic formula is P = MV you will go faster with the same watts in perfect conditions. P M V 2440 122KG 20K/h 2440 90Kg 27K/h Here is a good page where you can find all the answers. http://www.cyclingpowerlab.com/PowerSpeedScenarios.aspx
  16. The Medicine of Cycling Bike Fit Task Force Consensus Statement serves to develop a common language and initiate collaboration on the process of fitting. http://www.medicineofcycling.com/assets/Medicine_of_Cycling_Bike_Fit_Consensus_Statement.pdf
  17. On the list most of them are free for athletes
  18. I suck at golf. When I go to the driving range I can hit 100 balls where I want them, but on the golf course its a different story I have not played golf for 2 years.
  19. On the ride, there is not much time or breath to talk business. I was actually trying to ask a friend of mine a business question on one of our rides, and we had to stop our conversation every hill to catch up. Deferent fitness level can also be a problem. A hard fast ride can also leave your brain with less oxygen leading to dumber decisions. There's no denying the bonds that are formed on a bike. Even when you're suffering (or making others suffer) you connect on a much different level than you otherwise would on a golf course. Then, of course, there's always the post-ride café stop when you can talk. http://www.economist.com/blogs/prospero/2013/04/business-networking?goback=%2Egde_162027_member_5805803460905418752#%21
  20. I have stop taking statins 3 weeks before the 94.7, started taking Coenzyme Q10 and Slow-K. Use Slowmag the same as before. I had no cramps during the race my hydration was less than the previous races (no camelbak) Only had 500 Ml per hour. I shows that the statins are the problem. I also found this article "Can Statins Cut the Benefits of Exercise?" in the New York Times. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/05/22/can-statins-curb-the-benefits-of-exercise/
