  6. mmm - i did all that and then got a mail with a wait no ?? i guess i'll have to call tx for the help tho
  7. Also a previous entrant. Did you have to register your team or did you have a team number and password from last year ?
  8. Did you not get put on the wait list ?
  9. Go see Jeroen Swart at Sports Science institute in Newlands. He set my mtn bike cleat slightly back on my one foot. I have a 9mm difference leg length diff. I had already had a full body scan to measure the bones and the podiatrist had made special inserts. These were heel based so couldn't really have worked.
  10. Vote for 29". The more guys who buy them, the cheaper my 29" tyres will become...
  11. That's what I'm hoping to avoid. Thanks for the suggestion turtlek
  12. I understand that you need a different brake pad for a carbon wheel and a normal wheel. What does one do if you are swapping between training and racing wheels ? Do you get pads that don't discriminate ?
  13. I had some shirts done by Anatomic. We went with the 3.4 zip shirt. (Same as the cyclelab shirts) They did the order at short notice in time for the Sani which was great. The initial quote was a bit different to what we eventually paid (typing error on their part) their was a small shipping slipup but otherwise it was ok. Their minimum order is 10 units and the whole exercise cost appox R3800.
  14. Olympics is in the Southern Suburbs.
  15. I seem to remember seeing a few at Olympics
  16. On a slight tangent, does anyone have the Garmin file for the route ?
  17. Thanks - will do.
  18. Anyone have any experience. Easton EA 90 SL's. Are the bearings easily available and is it worth the effort. Any suggestions appreciated. Tx John
  19. Use the Specialized sit bone measurer. The bike shops that sell Specialized will have them. Or you could use some cling wrapped clay I guess.
  20. I think that tyre pressures are pretty critical when running tubeless so it may be that. A 26 inch tube works fine - just give it a bit of a stretch when fitting.
  21. mmm - not sure. in my case, i guess that it's more the benefit of riding with a group (not necessarily the coaching group). that said, i do know quite a few guys who use a program riding entirely on their own.
  22. Some with the coach, some other groups and some alone John H2009-01-27 09:12:03
  23. Get a coach to do you a training program. It worked for me - I started riding in Sept with the aim of doing the DC. Had a ppa seeding of Q and am starting the Argus in B. PM me if you need details John H2009-01-27 09:08:00
  24. I got mine cause I'm quite tall (191) and figured (Well Dick did actually) that my leg is 29/26 times longer than most mtn bikers. That said, they do go over things pretty nicely. Remember that you do lose a bit of gearing with the bigger wheel so up your tooth count on your biggest sprocket at the back.
