I think its a great idea. Besides that it looks better, should improve handling. But the cars are designed that the current tyre almost works like a shock absorber, with the sidewalls absorbing impacts. Moving to 18s would need some sort of redesign I think.
Good bike will make you faster, a little bit, but its still faster. I recently bought a Epic with carbon rims etc etc, its about 2,5 kg lighter than my previous bike. It does make a big difference. I also ride it more, because I enjoy it more.
If I were your boss, I would warn you to lay off the booze during the day. Base model Epic is R30 000, so with your logic all other brands dual suspension 29ers are free. Thats terrific news dude. Thanks

Its a beast of a bike, if you cant afford it, there are plenty of cheaper models in the Epic range thankfully, with the same pedigree.
Def 2015 models. Mate of mine is at the launch in Austria. We will have to wait and see what the exact specs are. They made big changes to the Epic in 2014, 2015 wont see too many changes in the Epic range.
I mostly agree with you. Have a look at component prices, they are just as crazy when you want xtr or xo or xx. Done the maths every time I buy a bike. It always works out cheaper to buy a better specced bike, than to up spec a cheaper version.
10 000 dollars x R11 sumthing plus import taxes, also gets you close to R 130 000. No one has confirmed pricing, so the R 130 000 some people are mentioning is pure speculation. could even be higher, who knows. We will have to wait and see.
