  1. Respect Blitz What a build We have tonnes of bamboo on the plot , and I just waned to burn it all down & dig the roots out as it makes such a mess. WTF was I thinking?
  2. Couldn't recommend this protection enough (1st Item), My Son did an OTB on his flash 1 at a recent race, got back on & realized the chain had come off, reset everything & carried on "balls to the wall". We got home from the race & he called me over while washing the bike to show me the metal protector - it was bent buckled & dented all to hell, even pulled away from the frame. I cant imagine what would have happened to the chainstay had it not been there. Have already ordered a new one and at around R200 I reckon it's worth worth every cent!
  3. WTF??? Are you for real - or just trolling?
  4. As a cradle resident, I am still not sure if cyclists are a good thing or a bad thing for the area (Generally the roadies are a major pain in the arse on the roads on weekends - not looking for an argument - just a fact!) But I am starting to change my feelings toward the general cyclist in the area, and welcome most, but please guys lets have some respect from the cycling community at least as far as litter is concerned, which I am sure is much more than we can ask for from the "general" population. Another couple of years of this crap and we ALL lose.
  5. Hey Rattlesnake - HTFU
  6. Real Men ! (I am assuming they were male?) Real Tough Men, that's the example to set to our youth ! Knobs !!
  7. Hey Kosmo' (If I may call you that?)...... you trying to steal my thunder here??
  8. No Lefty? That just ain't right!
  9. I reckon you should maybe go have a look at least (If still available). I heard you planning a trip down to that part of the world anyway
  10. Hi EZ would love to be there, in fact I have a particularly affinity with the area having spent many a holiday in the area as a kid, but we're going to be at the final Nissan Trailseeker "Down & Dirty" that weekend - already entered, Just BTW, I would love to take credit for being the rider in the family, but alas that opportunity has long past after way too many years of nicotine abuse, the lungs have all but given up. My son is actually the star of the show, and doing extremely well at present. I am just the coach, mechanic, and sponsor who gets talked into buying crazily priced bicycles by Nick (I'm sure he secretly gets comm from Omnico ) Let us know how the missus enjoys the new bike.
  11. Hey Nick I thought you said come down to Tzaneen, do the easy Magoebeskloof rides - that's what you said What you didn't tell me was that the locals ride 'Dales That means there ain't no easy if they have to resort to riding 'Dales!
  12. Okay, so your son got a mtb 'Dale Flash Now your missus get's a mtb Dale Flash Dude when we gonna see your mtb 'Dale Flash??
  13. Hi Guys Results were on Spectrum Sport on Saturday already: http://www.spectrumsport.co.za/Portals/17/ResultDoc/Silverstar_Casino_Mtb_20130907.pdf
  14. Ok nickc, ok You been asking me to post for a while now. Brilliant machine, we got an excellent deal and must thank the original owner for the obvious love and care he showed, just hope we can do him proud. since we got it, my son now spends more time riding, cleaning, maintaining this beast, than he does with his family, or friends (& even his GF, should I be worried or is it just a 'Dale thing?) Oh & just btw, his race time have improved big time. - waiting for that 1st trophy.
  15. Magic bike & a schweet colour combo, Wishing your boy many days & many k's of enjoyable & hassle free trails.
  16. You pose a very interesting question and it would be nice to get an "overall" perspective of hubbers feelings around certain series and events (these rants & raves are generally discussed on individual event threads), but a general consensus here would be really nice. Your idea of a poll would be great, but again being a newbie myself, I wouldn't know where to start either & maybe another hubber can help here? but maybe some things to consider: Overall prestige of a race / series Cost of race (value for money) Distances to race venue (transport costs) Organizational skill levels of the race organisers Timing, Seeding & batch organization Timing Route creation Route classification ie flat, technical, fast etc. Route marking Batch management & the aggravation thereof, bottlenecks etc. (ie. 70km joining 40 km joining 20 & 10 km and racing snakes scaring the crap outta the 10km kids, & kids & families etc. holding up the racing snakes) Marshaling & EMS Non-racing related facilities & entertainment - food/refreshments etc, Toilet / shower facilities
  17. also not sure whats going down here - is this a WTF happened at Cullinan thred? or WTF to do in a duatholon thred?
  18. Does anyone know where to find the photo's for this event?
  19. I'm still waiting for a reply on this one - so, HAS anyone actually tried these - Maggi "curry flavour" All-in-1stew mix ???
  20. Well done young man, great result, great interview You made South Africa proud today
  21. That was pretty hectic, and totally irresponsible from the zip line guys WTF were they (not) thinking.? To the guy who took the hit, big ups to carry on with the race & hope you ok?
  22. Yeah, and after all the fanfare, a lot of people thought that this (KIA Rankings) would be the answer, if you go to the site though it is affiliated with SASeeding, so maybe there's your answer ? Maybe CSA need to step in here? the sport is growing phenomenally and becoming more and more professional, I hear some referring to MTBing as the new "golf", well golf has a pretty good handicap system, why can't MTBing have a good seeding system? If we can get this right, it can only be beneficial to all parties, and the sport nationally as a whole. I know that the majority of MTBer's are weekend warriors and enjoy the occasional race, (as are the weekend golfers), but there are also the serious racing snakes out there who need the recognition (and rankings) in order to grow the sport.
  23. Yup That's the bike I was looking for
  24. I'm going out right now to buy me a 2nd hand 'dale, - and the dirtier the better
  25. I agree that the major races (Advendurance & Trailseeker series) seem to be uploaded timeously, however the "smaller" races (which incidentally are also listed and timed by SS timing) do not seem to be loaded into the SASeeding DB so quickly (if ever). Surely ALL these results should count? I just feel that if a rider is doing what he can to attend as many "local" listed races as possible and not just the premier of national events, (and I'm not talking the mickey mouse races here, but events where the entries also run into the hundreds) they should still be credited with their current results and be seeded and grouped with riders of a similar calibre.
