  4. As in WDF........
  5. With a Landy........I will be damned
  6. They are called sparky's aka mechanics.......so it would would have been a Brakeman sparky.....
  7. How many times did you read where I called people trolls ? Don't be that guy........be lekker....your tommie can stand his own man.....
  8. Looking at your speeds and ascent in conjunction with your heart rate.....it's really slow (not to be rude) your heart could be ticking super quick and naturally so.....or you are extremely unfit.....your recovery is also the norm.......
  9. It's called a lab.......that's what we do here when we test athletes here at T.U.T. Troll.......
  10. Mmmmmm....what now.....this does not quite make sense....either you paused the unit.....or your heat rate stayed elevated for that period.....alternatively you were operating at very high percentages to get that hour of standing around to let it balance itself out at 84 %........
  11. Give us the distances and average speeds with ascent for a change........
  12. You can't isolate one or two races and apply it all round to everyone.....if people go at that rate 3-4 times a week they will burn out.......that is what the google experts will tell you......The Mitty's of the world....the mid pack ski-instructors......the nobodies....the legends in their own lunch tins.......but the real Pro athletes and their coaches do things a little different.......
  13. You had the same argument when you suggested how stupid I was the last time.....reaching max no problem.....keeping it there for an extended period......danger point.......
  14. People praised them before the change.....now they "moan" it clearly shows that something does not sit well with them.......
  15. As for the moaning.....please stop moaning about the guys that dope in cycling....the K@K going on at the Giro.....the below par facilities in the work place.....the government......the presidenture.....the economy....race.....( fill this with all your moans )
  16. Yes......because it's more about ethics and a proper implementation of the system......all these tools who bragg about their easy peasy 80 % zones they achieve will eventually run dry and burn out.....it's about implementing the proper heart rate zones as accepted by many studies from institutes......universities and sports and heart institutes.....it's about them encouraging users outside of the Apple watch to get heart rate based units and the allocating them points for steps and telling them they have no heart rate data....it's stuff all to do with smoothies and watches but more to do with integrity and ethics......their bull$haait comment "we care about your health" is a total lie.....they care about their turnover.....they are there to limit risk....we are only another insurable item for them.....and a damn high risk item for that matter..... Nathrix posted a very informative post a good few pages back suggesting how points can be allocated when the real world and medically accepted zones are implemented and the points then increase on the time you spend within that activity......
  17. Reading the article a bit more thorough now.....I see only one user being mentioned about her unhappiness ith the apple watch.....she thought "free watch" no it's free if your reach your goals.....dumb thought to begin with.....shifting the goalposts for the reasons below.....laughable..... But there were those who found ways to cheat their way to the rewards - members swiping their access cards but not working out; husbands and wives recording the identical steps every day of the week; a member claiming Vitality points for completing two different races on the same day in different provinces, and using certain apps that recorded false "workouts". Many members have now complained that Discovery won't acknowledge the fact that a member might have had an operation or has been very ill......even so far as to members saying that they were told by the call centre to "just swipe at the gym" encouraging their members to cheat.... Husband and wife could have been training together.......false workouts with no proven screenshots or other proof that this actually did happen..... But ultra-fit members' heart rates are lower during exercise. "Elite athletes can continue to earn Vitality fitness points, but may need to change their training plan to shorter, more frequent, higher-intensity workouts," Viranna said. Wow Discovery......dictate much ? As Nathrix pointed out........laughable...... "but to get people to commit to a two-year contract on the basis of one set of criteria and then alter it so that they no longer qualify for the full subsidy without altering their behaviour is totally unjustified and unfair, in my view" Especially when the watch gets a heartbeat when strapped to a banana......get the public to buy a fitness device that records heart rate quite inaccurately.....getting your members to commit to two years of this bogus "fitness device" I think the noose is tightening......thank heavens I don't have an apple watch........
  18. This from the article . So while Vitality "will award 100 points for less-verifiable workouts, such as gym visits and steps taken, members using heart-rate monitors can earn between 300 and 3 000 points for a workout". The bit in bold......not so easy for some.......the so called "scientifically based" formula is also not in line with most literature for suggested and sustainable heart rate based training for long term health.......maybe....and just maybe.......it's not all about the watch for many others......
