  2. Re Cornering: Trust him. Don't fight him. Re Cadence: Still waiting for JB to respond on my comment re a sprag clutch - see somewhere in the previous pages. Re Cornering: Trust him. Don't fight him. (Can't aggree more, on a tandem its all about TRUST) Cadence: Here you need to reach a compromise, but usually its always better to spin a lighter gear than to grind a huge one, your legs will last longer...... Again, TRUST & communication.... two essential ingredients to any successfull tandem pairing.
  3. The best value for money around is certainly the Raleigh. My 2c.
  4. Sorry, that Mission is SOLD.
  5. The Felt is an AWESOME package. The whole bike, plus all the specs included.... PLUS: Its just won the TTT at the Giro...... (Yes, I know, the Silverback took gold at SA's....)
  6. Mongoose Canaan Elite Merida Mission 3000
  7. We sold a Merida Target 8 last week, swopped the Carbon rigid fork for a Manitau R7 Elite, and bike still came in under 9kg, including pedals & a bottle cage. P.S. The carbon rigid fork went onto my Merida FLX team for Sunday's Franschhoek Valley Grand Prix, and I was very VERY impressed how well the rigid fork handled the down hill, (even with my 85kg's )
  8. You can also add my name to the following lists: 1. Eager potential user 2. Retail outlet to sell you new "Watt-ever-you-wanna-call-it"
  9. Can't aggree more. I'm pretty sure that the public audiance would love to see more and hear more war stories from the middle and back of the pack riders.....
  10. I don't have a couch long enough to fit the tandem......
  11. ek sal julle ouens BITTER graag wou join, want eks heel naweek in STB. Maar ongelukkig is my GF se hand nog in 'n stut, so sy mag nie mtb ry nie, so ons sal maar die tandem ding doen oor die langnaweek...... (Watter tyd ry die "roadies"-groepe soggens in Stb oor naweke deesdae?)
  12. This morning I phoned the CSA office, after finding out my license is missing... (need to show it at my 1st PPA league ride for this season). After getting told that its only R30 for a duplicate, I made an EFT, and phoned around to get someone to go pick it up for me later. (Thanks Colonel). I phoned Tarren (spelling?) back in the CSA office, to ask for their fax number to send them proof of payment. Plus also an indication of when the license would be ready. She told me I can send them right away, as the duplicate is already ready. Now that's SERVICE!!!!
  13. P.S. ROCKY MOUNTAIN must take 1st Price when it comes to the coolest webaddress: www.bikes.com
  14. Thanks for the reference Lilo, make that ManiC Cycles though, and we also have a branch in Worcester.... As for Rocky Mountain, Geddan has been racing his since the Argus mtb race (second place). He's currently looking to sell his mtb: Rocky Mountain ETCS Team edition. R.R.P. R53,000. He's only looking for R29,000 for the bike, still in mint condition.
  15. BEAUTIFULL!! So out of interest for me and many other "weight weenies"... Whats the total weight on the crankset, BB & chainrings? PLUS: You can definately add my name to the list of interested parties from SA keen on a tandem crankset.
  16. So are you going to give me a decent Dealer discount on the whole mtb package.... PLEASE !!!!
  17. Ok, here's my take on the Q-rings. While I'm no scientist, the above comment from Mr. Brandt, I'd like to ask the following question. As he says, to go up a hill, FORCE x DISTANCE. If you become more pedal efficient (either by improving your pedal stroke, or a set of Q-rings in this case) surely you will be producing more FORCE at the same effort, or vise versa, you would need less effort to produce the same FORCE? I'm patiently waiting for my Campy rings, also have them on my TT bike and on the Tandem (where I definately can notice a real benefit, especially while climbing) and if they fitted on my FSA carbon cranks, I'd fit a pair on the MTB too. Just looking at the Poll stats: Happy with Q-rings - 15 ; Heard good things - 21 ; Unhappy with them - 0, Zip, zero..... Heard bad things - 10. While this is only a very small sample, not one person has said they are unhappy with them. So even if you're sinical and they just make you "believe" they make you faster / more efficient, then Q-rings are still beneficial. As for me personally, after my second ride on my set with my Powertap wheel, I phoned Ivan and asked him what I need to do to become a dealer that stocks them.... Since then I've sold out all my stock, and waiting for my next lot (should arive next week) and to date I have not had one customer with any negative feed back about the Q-rings, and I've had PLENTY of happy users with lots of good things to say about them. On this forum you can ask Fanie for his impressions and pretty soon also Fandacius and Mdk555.
  18. The most important question is HOW MUCH? (do you / can you spend)? Easton have really nice wheels to fit in to most budgets.
  19. www.eurosport.com Gives you updates every few minutes, plus a graphic display of route profile and where the riders currently are and also gives the split times between leading group, the yellow jersey and other riders. There is also a link to live audio commentry.
  20. Just be carefull..... Danilo Di Luca in trouble at the moment regarding Oil for Drugs... Marzoli and Di Luca face CONI http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2007/mar07/coppibartali07/coppibartali073/S-MARZOLI_COP30124tn.jpg Ruggero Marzoli (Tinkoff Credit Systems) and Danilo Di Luca (Liquigas) will face Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) anti-doping prosecutor Ettore Torri to answer questions stemming from the 2004 investigation Oil for Drugs. The former will meet with CONI today at 10:00 while the 2007 Giro d'Italia winner will have his hearing next Saturday, July 14. The riders, both from Abruzzo, have been linked with Doctor Carlo Santuccione. Marzoli, suspended from his team, is suspected of using EPO, Human growth hormones (hGH) and testosterone. In 1999 he was suspended for four months for drug trafficking. Di Luca was further linked to Santuccione via documents supplied by Italy's Anti-Narcotics Group (NAS) and recently published in the Italian press
