  1. Hi there I'm looking for a 2017 Cape Epic Team Entry. Please contact me if you are (or know of someone) looking to sell their team entry. Thanks! Willem
  2. That was one sweet ride. Enjoy Chris!
  3. Stop wasting your time with HR training. Get a power meter or ride on RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion).

  8. 2008 Crater Cruise... wiMPers2009-10-22 09:46:02
  9. I took the GT Golden Bike to my LBS to be weighed... The result = 9.40kg! Thanks for all the compliments guys, I really do appreciate it!wiMPers2009-10-13 11:30:42
  10. Thanks Jules! Is this a trick question? I don't know yet. On the one hand I feel like putting the bike in a glass cabinet, and on the other hand it begs to be raced! I will probably end up riding it.
  11. Thanks! I think my time was in the region of 3:47. I lost the CPU of my PowerTap along the way so I do not have my exact time.
  12. I have also noticed it. I had a look at all the other Golden Bikes that was awarded to the winners and none of them have golden Mavic SLR. They must have "photo shopped" it.
  13. Don't know the weight yet. Will take it to my LBS to have it weighed. Compared to my Scott (Scale 20) it feels quite a bit lighter. Then again, my Scott is not the lightest with the PowerTap wheel on. Will post the weight asap.
  14. I lost my heart somewhere along the route during the race. I raced my heart out for this bike!
  15. Here it is, my new (golden) bike together with all the other merchandise...
  16. Get a Power Meter then you do not have to worry about your heart rate
  17. Edge? 500 Product Available: 4th Quarter, 2009 Part Number: 010-00829-00 Suggested Retail Price: $ 274.99 USD > Sharpen your cycling performance performance with Edge 500, a lightweight GPS-based cycling computer for performance-driven cyclists. Loaded with data, Edge 500 tracks your distance, speed, location and elevation with high sensitivity GPS. Add an ANT+? compatible heart rate monitor, speed/cadence sensor or compatible power meter for a finely-tuned analysis of your ride. Jumpstart Your Training The Edge 500 attaches easily to the stem or handlebars of your bike with its low-profile bike mount. The Edge attaches easily to the mount with a simple quarter-turn. When you're ready to ride, just power on your Edge, acquire GPS satellites and go. Edge 500 features a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix? satellite prediction to calculate your position faster. Get the Data You Need During your ride, Edge 500 measures your speed, distance, time, calories burned, altitude, climb and descent, and records this data for your review. For extra-precise climb and descent data, Edge 500 also incorporates a barometric altimeter to pinpoint changes in elevation. All Edge 500 versions work with third-party ANT+-enabled power meters to display your power output in watts as you ride. This valuable data shows you how hard you're working, regardless of conditions affecting your ride, so you can train smarter. Some versions also ship with a digital heart rate monitor and speed/cadence sensor. Other helpful training features include a Courses feature, which helps you compare successive rides over the same route, as well as Auto Pause, Auto Lap and temperature readings. Edge also alerts you if you?re moving but the timer is not running. Track Your Heart Rate When paired with a Garmin heart rate monitor, Edge 500 tracks heart beats per minute and uses your heart rate for advanced calorie computation, so you know how many calories you're burning. Train in a certain heart-rate zone to improve your fitness level or compare your pace and heart rate to past performance over the same ride. Analyze Your Ride Once your ride?s done, connect Edge 500 to your computer with the included USB cable to analyze your performance. With a simple click, you can join a worldwide network of cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts through Garmin Connect?, a one-stop site for data analysis and sharing. wiMPers2009-09-16 07:43:57
