  1. Yeah, will definitely do that. Thank you
  2. Yeah. I'm not sure why they didnt call it. They(more than me) are new to bunch riding. Probably just swerved without thinking to call it. They will probably not make that mistake again.
  3. Yip, in Brackenfell there are a few such poepolle! Thanks for the info regarding the crash warrantee. Thats gonna save me big time.
  4. Thanks. I am really happy.
  5. You can get a warrantee replacement after a crash? Tell me more
  6. I hit a piece of concrete in the road. I was muching at the back of a 5man paceline. Didnt see it till I saw stars.
  7. I can say the same for the gloves. Shucks, it could have been bad. But my gear sacrificed themselves for my wellbeing. Kudos.
  8. I did a faceplant on tar at 34km/h on Saturday. This helmet probably kept me out of hospital and major trauma. Face got pretty banged up, but the noggin is safe. The helmet is knackers but did its job. Thank you Specialized for quality products.
  9. And the PPA 1tonner
  10. Rip. stay safe guys
  11. Love him or hate him, Phil and the tour are unseperable. I love him, most of of the english viewers love him too. You should hear some of the other language commentators! Haha, Phil is awesome compared to their revving!
  12. Interesting article. He called Froome, Richy Froome a few times during this years TdF. But, the tour without Phil is like Armstrong without his 'meds'.
  13. Its always about measuring and comparing!
  14. This should be fun. Please let us know how it pans out! go roadies

    Spring League

Yes, I got confirmation from the organizers. I quote "Due to various reason beyond our control it has been decided to postpone the Cape Cobra Challenge until 2014". Sucks though
  16. Thanks Dale! Always nice to get some Sagan-ian wisdom!
  17. I see some light through the haze. thanks. I'll do the PPA. This means if I don't do CSA, that I'll pay the extra R35 odd at non-PPA races, like the Engen coming up in Oct/Nov? It might then be wiser rather to make sure I have both PPA and CSA covered. That should suffice for 99% of cycling registration requirements?
  18. Is PPA membership an acceptable "trading commodity" at CSA events?
  19. Which means, PPA membership is the important one.... but, then not all funrides/events are PPA sanctioned? Back into darkness I fear!
  20. So what's the difference then, if I may venture further into the dark rabbit hole, between the PPA and CSA?
  21. so basically, the essentials are the PPA (R285) membership (including the race tec chip) and the CSA (R75) license. Essential and mandatory for event participation?
  22. It's a mess. different guys sanction different events and you need licenses for all these dudes. I'm confused.... hahaha
  23. Check this out: http://www.franscron...ster-2011/c1s7q it is a group from ASG (one of Frans' sponsors) including Frans who rode from Hermanus around the mountain (Somerset west, Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Villiersdorp, Caledon) back to Hermanus, 307km. They called it the Cape Monster and planned to hold it annually. Not sure what happened with the plans... but shucks!
  24. What is the difference then between the R350 domestic racing membership of CSA and the normal one?
  25. I am requesting the collective wisdom of my fellow hubbers again. Being a newbie to road cycling it is quite a bowl of mash potatoes to figure out where to get what membership for what end. Can someone please explain to me in simple terms and slowly the difference between Pedal Power and Cycling SA , who sanction what events, what membership I need with whom, and what I don't need? As far as I could gather Pedal Power covers race tec (one less membership to worry about). Pardon my confused ramblings....
