  1. Dear hubbers I started struggling with my right knee a month ago when I pushed 160km in a weekend training for the Argus. Since then I gymmed, "foam rolled", did a setup, changed my shoes and cleats and everything else short of a professional ergofit. Still, I rode yesterday after almost three weeks off the bike and my knee hurt lekker last night. Any advice? There's no way I am not riding the argus....
  2. And yes, there is such a thing as a dumb question.... Road=slicks, off road=knobblies. Simple....
  3. 1. How did this become about taxi's? I dont see any taxi's in the video or in the eyewitness account? 2. Who is Amanda? What wind blew her in? Because, she just made it worse....
  4. Thank you Frail and my cousins from PE. It was good to meet a fellow hubber. I took my inlaws for a piece of meat at Spur. T'was good.

    Tour of Oman

Froomey! Damn what a race. He's in good form this year. I think a battle between him and Valverde will be awesome
  7. Yeah from long rides I have lekker pain in my lower back, and to top it off, I picked up an ltd... Not leka
  8. Just a pity, the bunches are far and few in the alphabet groups...
  9. Yep, i was at cwc today, they have quite a few 26" conti's in stock...
  10. Conti make a good 26" slick that fits onto the rim. They go for around R285 odd. Not a bad option. Quite a few lbs stock them too.
  11. If i may, what are the charges for a bike setup/fitment the ergofit way?
  12. You gonna by a second hand bike hoping its the right fit for you, and then take on a century ride without a proper setup. Whereas you mtb is properly setup for you and will give a much more enjoyable ride. If you want to buy a road bike for a single race, I would advice bugdeting for a proper setup as well. Then, you will enjoy the ride more. ( you still have to get use to the bike though - handling, shifting etc). It takes time
  13. Put slicks on your mountain bike and ride. Its cheaper, and you'll probably enjoy it more.
  14. I didnt make it over hels. A recurring ltb injury took me out. I wasnt gonna chance it and miss the argus. Coming back up hels with my car (enjoying the aircon), it was good to see so many youngsters riding, especially the development riders. Cuddos to guys doing great work. I performed pickup duties later after the race was canned. I felt sorry for the guys who came so far only to hear, 'sorry race is cancelled.' If the guys werent bonked at that stage, the news probably took the last puffs of wind out of their sails. Congrats to all finishers. It was a tough one...
  15. Got me a nice pair of Specialized road shoes from a fellow hubber! Good bargain.
  16. Too soon to tell... Lets hope he's not a shooting star. He does have massive potential. But we'll have to wait 2 or 3 seasons before we can start throwing such acolades... Imo
  17. I wondered how long doctor love spell would last. If the mods didnt shut him, he would have probably did it himself to stop the torture. The Hub has no mercy for stupid.... Edit: spelling...
  18. Bring on the coffee, this thread will be my entertainment of choice today....
