  1. I feel the need to add - It wasn't that long ago that I, in my innocence, thought that all you needed was a cheap bike and a mountain to have fun. But now you lot have got to me with your expensive ways and your constant upgrade paths. You will be the ruin of me
  2. When the next cash comes in I will see how much I get away with not declaring to the wife. Plus my list of "needs" is growing daily - New tyre (or two) Shorter stem Pedals Longer travel fork And there was this dropper post I saw...
  3. Well hell the stupid is catching. I don't know why they bother teaching them arresting techniques when stripping them naked and attacking them is just so much more fun.
  4. I wash looking at these and liking the price - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/wellgo-v8-copy-flat-pedals/rp-prod563
  5. R845 locally at Diald Bikes.Hmm, how long do these things take to get here... Edit - Scratch that - looking at the wrong model. R545 at Diald but out of stock
  6. That's one of the alternates I was looking at and is half the price of local (don't know about postage & duties etc though).
  7. Annoyingly every time I see a set I like they hit *out of stock* status within 24 hours. I was interested in the ones you sent the link for - out of stock now. Liked the look of another set, went back to check the price later and... Out of stock.Only ones left? The most expensive set they have. I have a feeling that if I get the money they wont be available either.
  8. If the clothes were clean then you caved too early.I wanted to buy some pedals this week but the wife made such a fuss over the need to eat I was forced to give in (I will sneak out and get the pedals next week when she isn't looking...)
  9. Women and their skewed priorities
  10. I understand your point but I think we quite often unintentionally throw up barriers to entry when we start talking about the cost of MTB.
  11. "Okay kids we dont have much so don't wolf it down all at once"I'm off to desperately try and come up with something martial arts related...
  12. But if he doesn't have 6 to 7 k he has to work with the budget he has.If he starts with the R 3,000 bike and enjoys it at least he has something to ride while he starts saving for the upgrade and in the meantime he will gather some experience towards knowing what to look for when the upgrade happens. There are plenty of okay bikes out there that don't cost an arm or a leg. This one is fine to start - https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/76576-giant-revel-4/
  13. I had the bear thinking "Do I need a hat or a coat?"
  14. So its you who complains about Mamba being too *pedally*
  15. That one with the bear and wolf is begging for a caption competition
  16. To be fair he did win in the end
  17. That takes me back to Earthworm Jim on the Megadrive. I feel old for even remembering that.
  18. Would the comment have stayed there if the poster hadn't kicked off this general mess, PR storm, dogs breakfast for the club and then found himself arrested?I would like to believe the club on the whole is a good club with admirable aims but the fact that a member feels safe to brag openly on their FB page about assaulting somebody gives me reason to wonder.
  19. That is a very good idea and simple.
  20. The best place to be in a fight is the "Rincewind approach"* and that is to be somewhere else. And still running**. * Mildly obscure Discworld reference ** I may not always take my own advice
  21. If the judge is the archetypal "white van man", the UK's version of a taxi driver, then they are done for...
  22. If thats the case can you explain why one of them went onto their Facebook page to gob off and brag about how they had shown people not to "mess with" their club? Is it some fiendishly clever tactic devised by their legal team or possibly the action of an amped up little cretin that wanted to show everybody how tough he is. you know like children do before they grow up.
  23. Are you really this much of an idiot away from a keyboard? I am going to assume you are joking here because the actions you describe there are those of an uncontrollable idiot that should be locked away for his own safety and for the safety and peace of mind of all that come into contact with you. If you act the way you describe you need to be put somewhere where the residents arent allowed shoelaces, belts, anything pointy and get to write with crayons if they have been good that day.
  24. Before we answer for the sake of clarity is this being filmed
  25. We will never agree because your posts in this thread indicate you think violence with minimal cause is perfectly acceptable. Simply put I dont.
