  1. After doing this the Kremetart for the first time last year it became my favourite race on the calendar! I feel that I have not done nearly enough distance in training this year but I am seriously looking forward to it. One week left!
  2. Get this, www.penetrex.com . Rub it on your arm often. Rest your arm (no Gym, Jim, MMA, Wrestling, Crossfit, Boxing etc). It will take a few weeks but this stuff helped me a lot.
  3. You should be fine. First stage starts with a long climb and the 3rd stage ends (as Spinnekop put it...) on a bastatrds child of a climb. Bearing in mind it is at the end of 150 odd KM at that stage... Last stage is short and fine. Make sure you get the right amount of good quality calories over the day as well as sufficient electrolytes otherwise you will run out of fuel - cramps, hitting the wall etc... Good luck!
  4. Believe it or not there are UCI rules concerning this! The point of the saddle shall be a minimum of 5cm (see article 1.3.019 below) to the rear of a vertical plane passing through the lower bracket spindle. The saddle support shall be horizontal (see figure 1). The length of the saddle shall be 24 cm minimum and 27.5 cm maximum. http://www.slowtwitch.com/images/ucigraphic.jpg I wonder if anyone ever really checks this.
  5. I thought a cyclist's crack was what you see when the guy in front has really old cycling shorts.... Not a pretty sight!
  6. Anytime... Hope it works out well!
  7. Maybe try and attach it to your wheel's valve. That would give you plenty extra climbing...
  8. Fantastic! I even heard of guys throwing their Garmins the last bit of a segment to get the times better!
  9. So, my Mother is half Irish, half Dutch (as in Hollands) and my Dad was Canadian with a Scottish Grandfather. My wife is Afrikaans but her Oupa was German. What does that make my kids? Flip, I'm already a pavement special, they must be really rare!!
  10. I've been fortunate enough to have a holiday at Bellagio on lake Como. It is right in the "crotch" of the lake. Was beautiful! Unfortunately I had not re-started my cycling career at the time so did not go around with a cycling mindset. There are amazing villiages, plenty of mountains, great views, tons of good food & wine. To be honest, I am quite jealous!! I hope you have a blast!
  11. You having a bad day Cellar?
  12. Also need to add 14% VAT payable to SARS via the clearing agent based on the import value on the commercial invoice. So add purchase price + 29% (14% VAT + 15% Duties) + shipping cost + clearing costs to get the full real import price.
  13. Stopping anywhere in Brakpan...
  14. Thanks for this advice but I have the opposite problem. To be honest I have not tried the Campy tool on the Shimano lock ring yet but I wanted to change out my cluster this weekend, hence the question. I definitely don't want to damage the tool or the lock ring.
  15. Thanks Cippo, I have the BBB Campy lockring tool but need a Shimano one now...
  16. Thanks All. Will rather not force my Campy tool into a Shimano lock. This is the trouble when you change groupsets...
  17. Slightly off topic but related: Are Campy and Shimano Cassette Removal tools compatible?
  18. I would agree with you to some extent but limited to his own team. What about the other thousands of Pro Riders of that time? Read Tyler Hamilton's book "The Secret Race". Great insights into the team as well as the industry.
  19. While the other guys in his era only took vitamins, he doped like Jimmy Hendrix? If anyone believes that they are mad! Where are the others? #fallguyforsure
  20. Cool, got it. Obviously one should not be one!
  21. Off topic perhaps but I'm going to plead ignorance as I have not been a Hubber for long enough... What is a troll?
  22. I have had the pleasure of riding this route but all the way from Arabella to Gordon's Bay. What an awesome ride! This wind was quite "interesting"...
  23. Perhaps they should add an appropriate tag-line to their branding. Something like: "Cycle Science: We flog fake fietse" or something that at least advised the public that they are just like the street vendors, except indoors and they take credit cards!
