  1. On the m475 hub, that is why I personally like it,and like to get it again on my training rim.
  2. Comments understood, I raised this in my personal experience and opinion. If I misunderstood something at some point,my bad. The only thing I wanted,is the hub to be replaced,at a reasonable price and service. Just for a little bit of background,on a previous occasion I needed to buy a usb cable for a Giant neos pro bike comp, they phoned around, said they could get the item, and would phone me,but never phoned me. Glad everybody else received good service from them,I only received questionable service.
  3. And the prices were for the hub only.
  4. Regarding the wheel build,I did not expect it to be free,if I could do it myself,I would have, but I cannot. So in terms of that, service=sales,no probs. I am willing to pay for something I want, and yes, quality do cost money,my main gripe was the fact that the wheel was shuffed back to me,and told to get the item then at another place/shop. I know the history of the shop,of the father, starting the business long ago ect, just didn't expect THAT kind of treatment.
  5. Not happy at all about the service and attempted ripp-off I received today at the said shop, being close to where I stay, went to them with the intention of buying a new rear hub for my MTB (Merida 1-20 1500). Not wanting to dish out too much on the training wheels (Alex rims) I requested a price on a suitable replacement hub. Firstly the salesman tried to sell me a cheap chinese hub (giving a wow story about the sealed bearing factor) for close to R500. I asked for a shimano m-475 (being an entry level hub, suitable for training),I'm being told that the hub would cost me anything from R700 upwards. Now I know it being their shop,I politely told the salesman (really I did) that that is the going price for a Deore quality hub. He then inpolitely shuffed the wheel into my hand, and told me to go get the hub at another shop then. Oh,and apart from buying the hub,I would be charged a extra hefty amount for labour, and the rebuilding of the wheel. Yet another reason for going to a reputable shop in jhb area.
  6. On the same note,I have a indoor trainer and wheel to send to kzn as well. How much can the buyer expect to pay?
  7. Does anybody have info on when entries open for the first event on the 31st May? I had a look on the Advendurance site, but no luck.
  8. Regarding legal issues,a case will be opened if you shoot someone pointing you with a airgun, but in all defenses, who here can see, while in motion, whether the perpetrator is pointing you with a toy gun,or a real pistol.....? Just some food for thought.
  9. Still amounts to attempted murder, discharging of f/arm in municipal boundries, pointing of f/arm. Airguns, antique weapons ect fall under Statutory law.
  10. It is basically spreading the word, handung out bibles, preaching and praying for people. Its not Roman Catholic, basically your Nederduits gereformeerd.
  11. The mission work is Christian based.

  14. Do I need to 'ride it in'? Still struggling a bit to get the right position, and still getting used to it, kinda "hard".
  15. Here is a few reasons why DH mtb is not a good idea
  16. Where do I enter?
  17. This sounds like a "java" vs "java". On the ons hand you have java coffee, which is trademarked, and java in I.T, also trademarked. Now who is going to sue who here?
  18. Lol, no probs, just drop me a pm, where in vtown do you ride? There is a nice little game farm/resort where I go riding most of the time, with a few hefty clims and technical parts. Still working on my fitness though, rotfl
  19. I popped the bubble, saw the sealant go to work. all is sorted now, tyre is holding pressure. I also deflated the tyre to 2.5,will see how it goes. Thnx for everybody's input, its much appreciated.
  20. Yes I am.....
  21. On the issue of tyre pressure, the maxxis are rated up to 4bar, and I never inflated them higher than 3.2. (Taking rider weight into account as well). I will probably get a new tyre if not replaced, I need a tyre to ride, lol, but it will be so nice if the lbs replace it, if they do, I will rave, if they don't, I will not rant, because I only received good service from them so far, and surely with kind of high milage, they are not obliged to.
