  1. brilliant, thanks for sharing.
  2. SO true, so true. I feel like i am victim to that culture of shopping
  3. my first ride at holla was the blue route 3weeks ago. 5km's in and we were lost. met some other riders and followed them for a bit until we were all lost. Then met some out of towners who were guess what....also lost. Eventually made it back home, by some miracle. Hope the guys at Holla are reading all this and making amends.
  4. When will this carnage on cyclists stop? It just makes me so much more nervous every time i go out onto the road. I am preferring the bush riding more and more these days.
  5. regret to hear that but thanks to thehubsa forum, others can learn from each others experiences.
  6. Do you know who that was ? If so send me his details.
  7. If only money grew on trees, we would all have Di2. But thanks anyway. Bugdet is leaning towards ultegra.
  8. Ultegra is R7000 and dura ace is R16000. Apart from the reduced weight, what other advantages does the dura ace have to command such a price difference ?
  9. sorry to hear about that garfield. I would also be hysterical if my baby got lost/stolen. We will all keep a lookout for you.

    Tyre Liners

with the amount of glass and other crap on the sides of our roads, liners for me are a must. I'd rather the extra 50grams than spending 15minutes changing tubes in a race.
  11. Friend of mine got knocked on the m19 by westville, durban last sunday. Probably drunk driver. Stay off the roads in the silly season. Deepest condolences to all who knew them.
  12. zaskar, wouldnt a full carbon seatpost on a full carbon frame give the least amount of vibration ?
  13. so that answers that question. Scandium it is. thanks mampara.
  14. its alu wrapped carbon. weighs in at 260grams. Scandium is about 140grams. I am no weight weenie but definately want more comfort on the long rides.
  15. The carbon seatpost (deda ultra) is about 120g heavier than the kcnc scandium but does it provide more road dampening ? Need help asap as i am ordering a seatpost today.
  16. thanks dollar. Will try out that aerosol wax. Sounds like just the thing i was looking for.
  17. which wax would you recommend
  18. My LBS told me that there is no need to lube my new cassette and chain (SRAM red). Even though they both looked bone dry to me. But surely they gonna need some lube at some time or the other. Advice ?
  19. oh yes, it gives the bike a nice shine compared to just using water
  20. I use a mild solution of car shampoo and sponge the bike down. A bottle brush works great for the brakes and hard to reach places.
  21. Hey Peleton I just upgraded to Sram Red from Campy Chorus and I just love it. If for anything, the ergonomics of the shifters cant be beaten. And thats what you spend most of your time doing on the bike.
  22. I have seen bikes on the hub with your requirements for around 10 grand
  23. if you budgeting on a 105 groupset then you definately gonna come off cheaper buying a complete off the shelf bike. ANd you will have plenty to choose from. Just shop around.
  24. I have my delphi 5 magnet/sensor about 5cm from the bottom of the fork and it works perfect. I think you got a faulty unit. Change the battery first before running around trying to fix it.
