  1. At present we clearing things up by the UCI. He does get the points for the Nation as the points allocated to Nations, not teams. But ASO only want twenty teams at the Tour De l'Aviner( nust be stemming from the infighting between the two), so now it is not like last year anymore that you just have to get point to be able to ride, you must be top20. That is why there is and U23 team going to the Canada Nations Cup to score more points.
  2. Jacques made me very proud this weekend. Am sure it will just go from strenght to strength. he is very relaxed and said last night that it was just a little to steep today and he only had a 23t at the rear when a 25t sprocket at the rear was needed. He is looking forward to the next Nations Cups events and missing his U23 SA teammates(all SA teams)! 3. he is riding in UCI Academy kit
  4. Jacques rode the first stage of the GP Portugal today. He broke away on a climb at the 80km mark with Simon Getschke of germany, dropped Getschke with 25km to go. Got caught at 10km to go by Rodriguez en then later by three more riders. Finished 5th on the day! 5. I can't wait fot it! From what I hear its gonna be super!! Also heard many of the old gaurd tried to block this project. If CSA was a proper business and they had to justify their blocking actions to a proper board, they would be fired and then afterwards taken to court for damages!
  6. Wheels: Ciska se hoofborg het haar weer hierdie jaar gevra om die span te doen as o23, maar sy kon nie en het hul probeer help met die opstel daarvan. So as hul haar graag weer daar wou he...mmmmm.
  7. was shortened. If you check in race bible it says six times up helshoogte. Route profiles on web were wrong. Same for Vissershok profile. Midway in race was announced over radio it would now only be 5 times up Hels. Believe me, I was there..
  8. Sabido went away with Cornu. Up to George to chase as Sabido only a couple of seconds behind George. Was a little uncool from the commisaires to shorten the race with one lap at late notice and failing to give adequate time gaps, otherwise the break would have been caught before we entered the climb.
  9. MTN were the most alert SA team out there though and did the best of the rest to get 4 in there initially!
  10. What happened is Barloworld started attacking on the last climb. Then Pfaffenberger went clear. Janse van Rensburg went after him. Later joined by Kachelhoffer and then later four Barloworld riders sans David. And that was the final compostiion down to he line.
  11. O, and "skuilnaam" they at least had the best mechanic and soigneur, so at least that made up for the me being a bad manager Austin2008-02-17 04:28:52
  12. bwaahahaha! Rumour has it you say... When someone aims straight at management like that you know it is not about the result, but about a grudge with the manager..... It is also the first time in the history of lTDL that the course did not have at least two to three selective stages. Also the flatteset Langakwi in the history of the race, etc, etc. It is also this first time that a manager from a Pro Team had to just collect the riders instead of giving training camps to prepare them. It is also the first time that the SA team riders had to race against Pro Tour teams in hard conditons at Worldsview, just two days before this race( and the SA riders doing pretty well there) You just being narrow minded and acting stupid Anways, it was great to work with these guys at my first TDL and they gave it stick everyday despite having a bad manager like myself.Austin2008-02-17 04:31:03
  13. One mill in the pocket, not a guarantee
  14. 4hours of TV time, cycling to new destinations and new places for sponsors to be seen, all down the drain...Napalm- Cash was in place, but to pay a bar for one year deal will not work anyware, trust me... No right minded sponsor will pay that.
  15. To pay R1 mil for only a one year affiliation fee is crazy! If CSA had the insight to extend this for 5 years or so, then they would have kept the sponsors. I would also hesitate to pay anything if I knew you dumped your commercial partner only a short while ago. Tel me, does the Giro del Capo pay R1mil affiliation fee per year......?
  16. Same riders who started the Giro ride in invitational group in the Argus. If you didnt start the Giro, then you will not ride in initational group in Argus. So it will be fair, but with diferent dinamic.
  17. We ride Look KEO on the Neotel team and I have had them as sponsor with me with various other teams for the past three years. Even in tough Pro racing I can hoestly say we have not had one problem or foot clip out. Thyeare really, really great! Nolan has REAL force and no probs, ever!
  18. Did you know? All Neotel victories were on Look Carbon KEO pedals with no mishaps at all!
  19. I think having SA Champs in May is stupid. Training and peaking for this is going to be a nightmare. You have this big build up of high profle events in Feb an march, then nothing in April. Extending your body for another month towards SA Champs is plain silly. Ai,....
  20. I agree to an extent Popeye. Bosberaad is fine, but I have seen many of these, attended some and been disappointed by most. We have to get someone to take control of it from the results end. Then cut short any discussion not leading towards the desired result. nad have an immediate outcome with deadlines at that same meeting. I was told by the road commision not to pressure now becasue they working towards 2016( I was pressuring on Nations Cup for Jnr and U23). The thing is: Who will be riding in 2016 Olympics? Answer: No-one woth sending if we do not get hem into the nations Cups of 2008. It will all end in just discussions. I was at a 5 hour meeting and nothing came form that. we have not progressed one inch...
  21. This is at the crossroad where we stand: The choice between democracy and anarchy. Some parts of these threads lead towards anarchy because I see plenty of questions, plenty of slandering, but no answers. When you have the people at heart, the people being the cyclists in this case, and you justify all your actions as to benefit them first, then the choices you make in these times will turn towards democracy. Unforunately were are not at the moment. Succesfull leaders who want to take over or take charge or better situations do not just slate, they say: "Here is my solution, is yours more credible than mine or better than mine, I challenge you..." If you cannot say that, the keep quite. On the other side if you cannot answer or better the challengers question or agree with him and get it done, then get out..
  22. Please can all these cycling provinces present their workable plans to achieve excellence and transformation in this sport to a public forum or available on the CSA website so it can be viewed and commented on the feasability thereof. I agree transparency should be at the order of the day, but when you go to take on the board or any outside people trying to assist, please then already have a better plan and solution in place. As in normal country governance, the step form Dictatorship to Democroay hold immense challenges for the first years with Old Gaurd types slashing all newbies, new different angled Dictatorships trying to take advantage of the confusion, commercial exploitation of the new, yet unstable setup, etc( eg USSR to Russia) We are walking right into the same trap...human nature...Austin2007-10-24 06:06:44
  23. Breeze on her way to cederberg. Mallo: She already did that, no resposne from road commision. Breeze managed the Barloworld Jnr team when they were so successful in Europe
  24. Breeze has sent in a million an one suggestions, programs, schedules, etc to CSA. The road commision has to communicate and approve with her on this and nothing yet, ever. I know the President was trying to get that process on the road and get them to include her suggestions, but commes from the commisions not coming back to her. Just a remnider: Breeze does know what she is talking about as she did run the Jnuior team whose UCI points wilst competing in Europe in 2005 was equal to that of number 2 in the World...
  25. Doug- Ek smaak jou afrikaans....
