  1. You start the thread off with: 'just a quick rant' Now Google rant and it comes up with the following: 'speak or shout at length in an angry or impassioned manner' Hardly seems like a message of concern. AND THEN THE CAP LOCKS...
  2. This thread got me thinking that tubbies may be worth a try, provided the price is right. Would you mind sending me a pm with prices on these demo/1yr old wheels you refer to?
  3. never forget the importance of racing to improve your race results - training is one thing, but being in a race is completely different...tactics
  4. A spacer may work, but not ideal - this will give you a horrible chain line
  5. I think the conditions were great (apart from the really muddy section, but that was about 2km only) and gave some good racing. Sun came out, very little wind, and lots of fun. Got back to my car and some coward crashed their bike into my car (Ford Ranger, so not like its hard to miss) and disappeared without leaving contact details. Long dent and some ugly scratches If anyone saw this happening, please drop me a PM
  6. you lucky - they didn't do that for the 2015 series
  7. No, it's on offer to charity riders - when you opt to ride for a charity you can ask for a double lap, but you must submit previous race times for consideration
  8. DL is because you are in for the double loop - this doesn't reflect on your seeding. I am in the same situation - DL, with a seeding of 12.47. Slakkepas made a post that he is in VA with an index of 12
  9. I ordered 3 bike stands the other day. using a work lap, i needed to be connected to my vpn, which as usual bombed out just as i made payment, so i lost the connection. Payment went through, but i did not receive the usual email confirming my order. One quick email to buycycle, with proof of payment, and the invoice was sent to me via email and bike stands delivered free of charge. Communication!
  10. is it possible to sharpen your pencil for this a bit more. I already have a edge810, so this is more of a nice to have than a need to have: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/wahoo-element-gps-bike-computer
  11. This would be great please: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/shimano-105-5800-11spd-cassette 11-32 will do Thanks
  12. No, they are separate, and have been for quite a while And not cool bringing negativity to what is meant to be a positive thread - lets rather keep this to all the good that is on offer at Thaba
  13. Well since the sale is continuing, I will try continue spending: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/oakley-radarlock-9181-16 Please!
  14. Last year there were changes at the beginning of the race, on the way to concrete collision - I think that was a big improvement
  15. Is it just me, or have the forums around the Trailseekers died down? This is the first Trailseeker I am missing in 3 years, and when I see how quite the forum is, I don't have any FOMO
  16. I never believe the advertised distance - always longer than they advertise
  17. Either this: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/birzman-torque-wrench or http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/bbb-torque-tool-btl-75 Thanks
  18. there was talk of Momentum pulling out after the 2015 event - that was the general feeling after the survey from Momentum was sent out.
  19. 70km? I will believe that only when I cross the finish line and see 70km on my garmin. always longer than publicised.
  20. I'm sure numbers are sequential, so any tosser can still be a box, work out the number sequence and get people banned for life
  21. would someone be so kind to post a picture of their race number from collection so that the rest of us can do a 'print at home' job and make it look more or less the same to avoid doing 2 drives to EP
  22. I would try stick to what you have - if you move to sram at the back you will need to change your shifters. That said, I run a 1x10 set up, with a 11-42. I have sram x9, but had to change from a medium to long cage as I could not get enough clearance to get the chain onto the 42. The long cage has worked perfectly for over a year now, never any issues.
