  1. 26" is where the bargains lie. If it's in decent shape go for it.
  2. I would love to do this. I grew up in Lesotho, the terrain is amazing.
  3. I'll have a look again, I thought it was a bit much but now I'm seeing the potential...
  4. There's an old Fire Mountain at my local CC, been there for quite a while. They have no idea how to price bikes.
  5. No. Private sales are not subject to the CPA. Private sales are still subject to not misrepresenting the goods. Small claims court is free.
  6. No swingarm, there seem to be lots floating around the bike shops... Nice welding, I don't think it's a Raleigh.
  7. Sorry, don't know what happened to the image
  8. Anyone know what this is? No markings at all.
  9. Thanks, will try that before doing anything dramatic.
  10. Upgrade to a better 26er. There are bargains lurking.
  11. Thanks, I found the importer but no contact details. I went into one of the shops they supply and they didn't know anything about ordering parts. The old sleeves will come out with some persuasion...
  12. Anyone? I see I can get overseas but the forks aren't worth the cost.
  13. I'm trying to get some forks with loads of play right so I can sell my old bike. Anyone know where I can get 32mm slider sleeves locally?
  14. If ever you get properly stuck when you're in the right, go to the ombud. http://www.osti.co.za/ Cheapest way to insure a bike is almost always on your household cover.
  15. Good news. Got a Shimano BB and it is all happily together. A couple of other minor things and i'll be out causing trouble again.
  16. Hi everyone I'm Matthew from Kloof. I grew up on a mountain bike (mostly in Lesotho) and now i'm in Kloof KZN. After a long break i'm getting back into riding and also accidentally into bike maintenance as i've had to build up from lots of parts.
  17. 24mm spindle, screw in cups. I'll drag myself off to a bike shop tomorrow.
  18. A friend gave me some carbon fibre FSA cranks, I tried to put them on buy the left side doesn't taper like my SRAM one did. What do I need?
  19. I bought a complete used bike, then found a used frame I wanted and moved everything over. Never could have afforded the frame I wanted as a built bike.
  20. Thanks everyone. Will pick up some cheap cleats from somewhere and see which I prefer. I coincidentally have a second bike at the moment so I can compare easily.
  21. Thanks guys. I have Shimano pedals but I thought I should at least give the crank bros a chance.
  22. Evening all, I've ridden on flat pedals for years. I finally decided to go to clip and got some SPD pedals and shoes. Now my friend gave me some Egg Beaters which i'd like to try. Are my SPD cleats compatible? If not, where can I get cleats locally? Thanks
  23. I have an old Mongoose. It's been painted badly but that can be sorted...
