  1. Great to see another race in the WC has been added. Best of luck to the team that are making it happen, not an easy exercise, but it will be appreciated by the riding community I am sure!
  2. @nigelhicks just reading your post above, and the success that seems to gaining momentum with other provinces ...would you say you have received resistance from the WC in the past? It would seem by the sounds of things that WC needs to pull the enduro series back in under a provincial body operating on an NGO type framework, to make a series both possible and financially achievable to most entrants. Would you say this would be a good direction for the WC to consider? There is definitely still scope for the more specialist events in a format by WildAir, or EzelEnduro, catering for that single day monster event. But that is not everyone's cup of tea.
  3. The simplest solution I have seen is a piece of metal plate cut / bent to fit over the end of a fortuner exhaust and fastened with a hose clamp or two... easy to install, and easy to remove
  4. Yup, some of us even fell over on the ground. It would be great to see everyone who bravely sits behind a keyboard ride this event!
  5. Rock Razor on the front - sounds like you have a good relationship with your dentist! Gooi a picture or two - keen to see it!
  6. Check the damper while you are at it....might need a service!
  7. Check when last did you have the fork and shock serviced..... that will affect performance! The issues you describe with the shock may be related to the damper. The standard RT3 Monarch cannot take bands, only once a Debonair can to it can you start tuning the air spring. With the DVO, does it not have the OTT setting as well? Yes, the neutral setting will make the bike more playful as it steepens the angles a touch. Will definitely climb better...
  8. % sag is just a starting point to determine what pressure works for you. I run about 3-4 clicks LSC, so no...not to much. I do run at least 2 tokens. I also weigh around 76kgs... With regards to the Monarch, 30% sag as well, but tune the air spring with bands....can't recall but do you have the Debonair can?
  9. 14mm sag on DB Air Inline (recommended is 15mm), with a little added HSC 160 Pike fork, 30% sag more or less
  10. @headshot, there was a Bike / MTBUK / Singletrack article a year or two ago, put the SLX brakesets at 4th most powderful on the market. Outstripped the Saints too surprisingly. Guides are nice, but IMHO, not great. Bike sounds like a ripper, what are the specs....or has that been posted before?
  11. Silver one at the shop is a L.... #justsaying #evilbikeshopowner
  12. Dependent on the rider I guess. I see BlackSnow mentions it does not climbing very well....lets say it is heavier than the Phantom in terms of feel on the climbs, but I have found it climbs far better than expected! Its a big bike, make no mistake! If one is looking for a out and out trail bike, the Spitfire wins in the long travel category. It can be playful, it can be aggressive...depends on the rider. The Prime you need to be switched on 100% of the time. It demands aggressive riding, but pays in dividends in spades. It will blast through anything. Strangely enough, the Phantom would be my choice of the one bike to do it all in Cape Town if I was forced to choose one bike to rule them all.......even though it is shorter travel. You can rally the **** out of that bike and it just keeps coming back for more! I have done everything from hit downhill lines to do W2W on it, it is literally the Swiss army knife of the range... in this country *disclaimer right there*
  13. There is an all black one floating around Cape Town...keep an eye out
  14. Sadly it seems so. However there is a size L hanging in the shop... #justsaying
  15. See, told you it was going to arrive soon....
  16. Just shout when you want to test ride, all can get arranged
  17. ^^^^ This ^^^^ Will be releasing an article on the Prime soon for you Hairy. Will add some follow up pics as well on the thread. Going to have to wait a bit though
  18. Whats even worse is this one liner And still no picture...
  19. Assuming the bump in thread, you are looking for a picture of Prime...?
  20. Superb tyre on the rear. Good balance of grip and rolling resistance. Also found it quite resilient to general poor line choice and or sneaky rocks hiding in the undergrowth. Ran it on a medium travel trail bike on anything from damp to dry loose trails, performed well in a variety of conditions.
  21. Peach - you are going to dig the Phantom, unbelievably capable short travel 29'er...I have had an absolute blast riding mine. Going back onto the Spitfire is going to be interesting!!! Prime for 2017 for sure!!!
  22. Hairy - considering the lack of support for X-Fusion in SA up till this point, I would vote for the CC...at least the agent is active in the MTB community. X-Fusion will be moving to a better agent soon, but still need to find out what spares are available with the move on legacy equipment. Bonus of the CC is it can be tuned to any bike, and the Spitfire was designed initially around that shock. If your mate does want to do a deal on CC / RS swop, please come and chat to me, we can work out a deal!
  23. When you finished tearing the lugs off those HD's, Hairy....come pay us a visit for some Maxxis WT!
  24. Meezo, good to meet you this morning! And yes, Banshee do a hardtail in 29/27.5+ that I am sure we can single speed....just saying
