  1. Concerns: Warranty Claims Volume required for order Customs Import / export license damage to local market...
  2. Subtle like a paving stone .....
  3. Trails were there way before either of them got involved. And essentially are "owned" by Cape Pine.... So TMM why are you threatening to close something that you do not own? This is an advertising issue, not usage or safety issue.... Essentially that building is a Heritage / protected building just by its age alone. So, essentially, there should have been application to erect signage with the Heritage Department of the Western Cape Government, as well as the local authority... Did that happen?
  4. Dude needs to up his game if doesn't want Ride-In to take the customers.... plain and simple really. And get rid of the Scott boards, otherwise they must come to the party
  5. Hellocolour, you can't miss the shop. Its at the trail head, and the road leading up to said trail head ends right outside the door. Will try take a pic for you this weekend if I can get out there....there may be a lot of rain in the photo! This situation is not ideal, this is pretty much the quintessential trail system at the moment. It needs to be resolved, otherwise riders are going to throw toys and go rouge...again!
  6. Very much of the radness....love the outtakes and tune at the end! I hope much beer was had in celebration post ride, well done chaps
  7. I think the initial post from W2W was probably indicating riders crossing the farms on their route (possibly) where there are no trails apart from the race route - so that is easy to define and one will stick out like balls on a dog if seen on the farm with your fiets. As for the rogue riding on a farm with designated trails - agreed, its tricky with the honesty box system or a system where there is no one to receive the funds / issue a voucher. I suppose it is up to us to make the effort to make sure we are not taking the piss out of the situation / organisation. Impress on your mates to pay as well and to be an honest rider. Last but not least, there is no reason for us to be shirty with a landowner because "we have been riding these trails for years!". He has all the power in the situation, so being humble from our side is key.
  8. Howzit, ja something weird happened there....will sort it out. Shot!
  9. Sounds like guys are hitting the routes pre/post event. Once you know the route you don't need the markers, and a fair amount of the markers are placed solely for the event. Basically okes thinking they can just ride the route, and f^&*k everyone else "cause it is there for me to ride". As far as I am aware, the only route that is open year round is the Freedom Challenge, and even there there are some contentious crossings DURING the event...
  10. Just received this info from the guys at W2W, from my point of view I can't disagree with what has been put in place. Anyways, in the interest of keeping all informed, have a look below: A short but very important notice re. unauthorised riding on private property and farms. For example; on the Houwhoek Tour and W2W Routes the only trails which are open to the public are the Schapenberg, Grabouw, Oak Valley, Paul Cluver-Thandi and Hermanus Trails. The rest of the routes are strictly off limit for MTB, except during these events. Unfortunately a small group of arrogant, selfish and stupid rogue mountain bikers trespass on private property, whenever and wherever they wish, resulting in angry land owners, tarnished relations between event organisers and owners and eventually trails been closed permanently. Therefore landowners, event organisers and route coordinators decided to act seriously against such rogue riders. It was decided that rogue riders will be prosecuted for trespassing and be banned for at least three years from all MTB Events in the Western Cape (incl. FNB Wines2Whales, ABSA Cape Epic, and MTB Events organised by MTB Adventures, Dirtopia and PPA). This ruling also applies to rogue riders who cycle on public MTB Trails, without bike boards / no payment / no membership. As a member of the larger and responsible MTB fraternity, please assist us by communicating and expressing your anti-rogue riding opinion and by notifying us of anyone involved in such bad practices. We have managed to create some of the best trails and relations with landowners, which are constantly undermined by a small group of arrogant riders. Assist us to kick them out of MTB and to grow this amazing sport with responsible and like minded riders. Safe and responsible riding okes - its worth a thought....
  11. Hectic, well I suppose I know how he feels! Hope he comes back hungry and fit....
  12. Danny = Legend....you should try chase him down a trail! Not easy!
  13. A big pity....can promise you Graves is going to now be GUNNING even more so for that EWS overall. Dislocated collar bones takes Jey out of the running as he will probably miss round 2 at Tweedlove
  14. Bike looks rad, nice and stripped. If it ain't a fixie you may want to consider a rear brake?
  15. Worriesnot, that is normal and should happen on the first couple rides. Its a bit of assembly grease that is on the inside of the seals/wiper and some residual oil. Be concerned (as No Calves points out) when there is ALOT of oil and a big mess in that area - then a seal is leaking or has failed. The other one to look out for is when it goes completely dry - then the Float fluid is no more. Critical to have that sorted out as it will then start to damage the shock. Enjoy the new bike!
  16. What service and product are you receiving for R3700? What kind of fork? Ek se maar in Engels, my Afrikaans is nog al sleg!
  17. Drop down to a 34 or a 32....less walking more pedaling. Welcome to the 1x movement, you will become a stronger and fitter rider for it!
  18. Looking sweet...more pic's to look forward to! How's your dental insurance? X-Mark front = hiybo!
  19. Omega Man: thanks for all the info flow happening! Knowledge is power!!!
  20. If the lines run down the top tube then it ain't going to work. If you can get them to run in the down tube, turn through the BB shell and up the seat post then you are winning. You will obviously need to sacrifice one of the existing lines - so change to 1x drive up front or single speed the bike.
  21. Omega: is there a program for Bennett on what is going to be working on. Obviously the young man + team is starting on Vasbyt...what are the plans and/or dates there after, what trails will he be hitting next etc... Also what news of the revised EMP? When does this come into play allowing the cutting of new trails? Shot!
  22. MORE ROCKS!!!! You okes just wanted to go get stoned on the mountain bru! Hence the rescue.....HA
  23. Looks like Sunday going to be a bit soggy.... single speed is going to love the conditions. Does mean okes are going to be slooooooooooooowwwwwwwww
  24. Thanks PoS for the info.....information is king!
