  1. Just got this awesome piece of kit Won't disclose the name of the shop BUt can you believe I paid R2500 !!!!! Just need a shim and then i'm off to the trails
  2. Put the spanner on but make sure its on tightly ( put a rubber band in between the spanner if needed) Then put the other pedal back in the crank and place it inbetween the gap made by the bricks in your wall , finaly put a pvc or steel pipe over the spanner and gently start aplying pressure ( if the spanner starts to bend then you have a big problem Also try adding some lube like puple extreme gets in everywhere or something corosive like q20 also make sure you are turning in the right direction i.e. the pedal wil turn out in the opposite direction that you pedal
  3. Got mine for exactly the same price Just got back from my first ride with them and is very very different (I will take out the spacers was a little to loose) Wheelie and manuals are the same but bunny hops are super hard now also its a great feel on the decents ( I only did about 10km tho) happy thus far Also noticed its very hard to keep up the spedd i previously did with clips but It may be my shoes I rode with old VANS sneakers . 9. I have been riding on clips ever since i started mtb'ing but recently I have been thinking of buying flats because i hear the ride is more satisfying/inspires confidence and looks cool ect. ect. ect. Now i don't just want to bite the bullet and buy super expensive pedals to begin with ( Just incase I don't like them) Is there anybody that can recommend a cheap(relatively) set that aren't to bad just to start out with.................or I if anybody has an old set they don"t use I'l trade you a case of beer. Can you also advise me on 1) Which ones do you have 2) price 3)experince 4)availibility of replacement parts 5) Other things I may want to know Thanks Happy trails
  10. I'm going to get a lot of HATE for this but seriously , Is there no-one here that thinks this is becoming a little over the top I mean honestly! ( A f***ing 50t granny are you an XC world cup rider or Oupa Jan)
  11. check the bolt very carefully most of the time there is a slot in the plate where the cable needs to sit , its very rare that the cable should just be clamped between two flat plates
  12. to check if the bearings are worn lift the bike and spin the wheel very fast for front - hold your stansions with your index finger and tumb very lightly ,you wil feel an unmistakable grinding feeling if they are worn for back - do the same but hold the seatstays about halfway with your fingers, not the chainstay... after this you wil definitely know if its the bearings or not. good luck and report back if you find the cause
  13. I have heard of people that call on engineering companies to machine cups fro them that are pressed in the headtube and then allows a tapered steerer I however have never seen one or heard of someone who has actually done it , but it does sound cool and interesting

  18. To everyone complaining about squirt guncking up your chain it's because you are using too much and also not wiping the excess off.... lube is ment to be on the inside i.e. on the rollers everything on the outside is 100 percent useless
