  1. Crux that is why I suggest that we start an open forum with representatives of all parties. That would be a representative of the elite riders, CSA, fun riders or clubs and then organizers. Maybe have a monthly meeting were issues of the past month be disgust. These issues then need to be formally sent to the Road Commission President for personal attention. That is way the provinces voted for the people to be there. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Let?s make use of the people voted in power. If they don?t pull there wait then take it further. I just feel that the rider complain loads but never wants to put it on paper for CSA to further the issues.
  2. Look..... all I can do is act as the link but the riders need to document their issues. No use telling me their problems. If it is on paper and was sent to the correct parties the riders have something to fall on and demand answers.
  3. Rupert is the best. Funny like hell and good with the youngsters
  4. Phen is correct..... they will leave SA to race in Europe around April for 3 months. He got the contact option that if he gets a better offer he can leave with out issues. With Michael and the rest of the ex Minolta youngsters I recon Exel will be a strong team in 2007. Wonder what Rupert is doing next year?
  5. I honestly think we should all come together and come up with some ideas covering all the worry aspects in racing. Then put them to table with the road commissioner for CSA. I will and I am sure pedal will gladly help getting issues to table. I like the diagram Jason did and we should propose things like that. We also need the elite riders to get involved. The riders only complain and I think they should get actively involved. Remember most of the CSA officials have full time jobs and I am sure the riders can help getting their points across.
  6. Thanks Jill! Besides the YCA boys race hard and working with them on the Amashova they really went out of their way and made all the racing. Jill is correct that they respect Michael and I can guarantee you Michael respect Jill and her teams as well. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I still believe that Loodjie is one of the junior and is just trying to cause more internal politics. Sorry for you but nobody are interested in a stir at this stage. By the way how did your race go on Sunday Jill?
  7. I agree shammy rash. I also heard that the elite crash was caused by a rider who rode on the outside of the cones and then tried to cut back into the main rode.
  8. I think Loodjie is one of the juniors and is trying to stir. Michael made the choose not to train and study for his exam. During his time in Europe the school work took a back seat. I have to agree with Mallo that CSA should be more agresive in protecting young riders. And also..... Sat before the race I had more of a cycling tan that Michael.
  9. As for the rest of junior guys.... there are intenal politics. From delibreta crashes caused by riders slamming dead brakes in the bunch to guys having full punch up after the crash. There are also Elite team managers telling junior riders to ride open gears and when the junior are told it is against the rules they have "nice" words in return.
  10. Michael Robinson finished his matric last week Friday. He did around and hour of riding a week since his return from Europe some in Aug. He races 120km in Kerksdorp on Sat and Bakwena on Sun. He had all the power but do not have the racing miles or kilo's in his legs. On Sunday he told the Mr Price guys that they can have first three and yet they attacked him. He just told them.... they must feel k@k that they have been training he is not and he still manage 4th on Bakwena.
  11. Not being an official on the day but riding the event I cannot comment with regards to the cones. Seeing this picture is sad. The first few pics the guys had problems with cones in the road. Then is was removed and then riders rode in to the barriers. I agree that safety comes first but some of these riders are taking their own lives it their hands. The ride dangerous and don't bother showing the riders behind them what is lying in the road and and and....... Instead of guys pointing fingers they should work with CSA and organisers to make the races more safe.
  12. F?lix R.C?rdenas Ravalo (Col) and Alexander Efimkin (Rus) will be the other leaders.
  13. Awesome.... just a pity about the wheelset
  14. I did 104km/h down Havelock hill. That is the hill that you do the day after the Jock.
  15. Spinnekop.... the Cosmics is out. The Zipps give it the edge and just complete the mean looking machine. Is that FSA compacted cranks? If so..... Since when do you have a hard time on the hills? <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Congrats with an awesome looking bike.
  16. Dis glo van die Cebrist girls.
  17. Funny how the same guys were unfriendly guys at the TDF as well.
  18. Die duiwel se horing is "below standard" as dit kom by haar.
  19. I am glad that old Gibo can still get results.
  20. I just hate the way Owen tries to ask high level questions with a low level result. It is as if he tries to impress the person he is doing the enterview. Don't know why he is part of the show anymore because he doesn't know what a bike looks like anymore.
  21. If I understood everything correct, it is there product and they handle all aspects of the product.
  22. Who cares if Jacques wife is well off or not. It is just great to see that Jacques is planning his future. It is more I can say about other elite riders. I will support him as far as I can.
  23. Sorry admin....... ek het nie dit so bedoel nie. Ek probeer net ander hubbers wys ons ou SA Champ maak n punt daarvan om vir hom iets na fietsry te skep.
  24. How many off you have heard of the product Quickets? Well it is charcoal, fire lighters and brickets all in one. How cool is this. It is virtually smoke free, you don't need fire lighters and your hands do not get dirty either. Oh and it is non soiling to. Quickets is a business venture one of our top riders started in the last year or so for his retirement. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Go on guys try it and support our fellow cyclist. If you need contact details on where you get the product let me know.
