  1. Most loose sand I've ever encountered in one race!
  2. Hulle koppe raas!!!
  3. Where in Pretoria do you want to train? There are groups all over. Safe roads - now that's another matter - there's reasonable safety in numbers in my experience
  4. I was under the impression that low pressure is only used in the loose stuff. You'd want a narrower track to cut to the bottom of the mud so that you at least can get some semblance of grip and therefore ride with higher pressure in wet & muddy conditions?
  5. It seems that we're in for a wet Rooiberg Eco Ride on Saturday! Any suggestions on tyre pressure? I'm running tubeless Monorails!
  6. Damn impressive Admin!!!
  7. All I can say is: I have 2 bicycles and a car - why oh why would I want to run anywhere?!
  8. Option 1 for MTB, option 4 for Road
  9. So very very sad! Condolences to all family and friends!
  10. Dis so tragies en so onnodig! Innige simpatie met familie en vriende! Rus in vrede jong Carla!
  11. The 34t is for guys running double crank-set iso the normal triple
  12. Personally, the KMC chains have given me the best service over the years - 3000km plus on a chain before I replace (sometimes not even necessary yet!)
  13. Koppie raaaaas!!! I swim like a rock! Straight to the bottom! Good luck with your training!
  14. I'm considering upgrading my 9-speed 105 to 10-speed! Is it worth it? Or do I wait for Shimano to play catch-up with the 11-speed groupo?
  15. Giving it a miss this year - doing the Oyster Festival ride in stead!! Enjoy it though - it's a great race!
  16. KMC - did all my Epic training on one! Replaced it for the Epic with another KMC and still riding with the same chain!
  17. Flexi-time is a wonderful thing - too bad my bosses don't believe in it!!
  18. The X9 or if you insist to have a lighter chain the X9L. Anyone living at the coast will be best served by the Z99RB
  19. Buy a KMC chain - in my experience a much more durable chain than the Shimano models! And to top it all they are cheaper than the Shimano models
  20. I'm just as concerned that my age is now counting against me?! This target group should have unbounded energy purely based on their age!
  21. Absolutely worth it - never had one fail on me yet!
  22. Hmm - no engine - how do you propel that thing?
  23. Did my 1st one in 1999, but missed a few - started 8, but only finished 7, as I broke a RD during the 2003 edition! Missing this year's edition Maybe a good thing considering my total lack of fitness!
  24. Bulls 42 - Cheetahs 19 Ons hou by BLOU!!!!!
  25. We were manning waterpoint 4! (foot of Hekpoot) I personally walked more than a km up the road to clean up! Come on roadies, if the Mountainbikers can learn to behave, so can we! The pic below was taken after the first ladies went past us - you can just imagine what it looked like after 3000 more cyclists went past!
