  1. Right so I’ve had a ponder for next year. 2. Yeah I’ll be thinking of you when Im chilling on my balcony cabin sailing in the middle of the Indian Ocean 😎 the last week of December. Been a long season. Actually looking forward to just get off the bike for 2 weeks in the festive season.
  3. Awkward as in actually drinking from the bottle while riding. Honestly, I’d rather get a camelbak.
  4. Jislaaik, you okes are too fast man. I’m still trying to finish off 2023 here first.
  5. Why do you want bigger than this? The 950ml is not the most friendly while on the bike already and anything bigger will just be even more awkward to handle.
  6. Wonder if they will allow late entries here. Might be a last minute decision as to whether I do this or not.
  7. Ive been testing it now for about 2 months. So far so good for me. It is costly, but if you factor the costs of gels, bars and food etc that you would normally consume, you save on those costs. The only negative I’ve found is because Im drinking so much more now, I need to pee more often. Other than that, it’s a thumbs up from me.
  8. Elite make a 950ml bottle. I got one from Olympic cycles and another from evobikes.
  9. When are the start times coming out?
  10. Stellenbosch cycle tour needs to be reignited.
  11. What is the difference between the 2? Do they not use mtb events for seeding any more? The Old Hermon gravel ride was supposed to be seeded event for the Argus, but that event has not even been used for seeding. Same with the PPA Mtb Challenge. It’s not even listed on Racetec as an event I completed. This whole FinishTime /Racetec merger has just messed everything up now.
  12. I just used social media as an example. The bigger point I was trying to make is they need to make more of an effort to get the event seen by more people. They need to market the event better and make people want to come and check the event out and participate in it.
  13. That’s a bit disappointing.
  14. By the way, at the Durbie Dash loads of people got disqualified for jumping the line and starting earlier. So clearly there is a start mat that records your start time. Not sure what exactly happened at the One Tonner.
  15. There are always timing mats at the start of the race but for a road race they dont use this. As you said its group start time to finish but the mat is still there. I assume the purpose of the start timing mat is more for verification purposes that everyone did indeed start from the correct spot and not jumped in afterwards like someone mentioned.
  16. This shouldn’t be the case. Something isn’t right if this is happening. Can either be related to your fit or diet but you should be able to resolve it. 3 hours is not long for someone to be cramping. Something is definitely not right.
  17. The reduced interest in road events also have to do with lack of social media presence. I’m not really sure how costly this is to actually do proper advertising but I do feel that effort goes a long way. People might say this is moaning but if the organisers don’t bother then why should everyone else? You compare this to the DC where you have constant updates and regular interaction and that shows because the race gets sold out. I feel like the PPA have a great event here that they should really be pushing but they don’t really care. Make it more interesting, get more eyes to see the event and add something to the event that draws more people. People say we shouldn’t complain about goodie bags, but honestly a nice goodie bag can actually draw people to enter. It’s upto the organisers to somehow work that into the price. If they need to get it sponsored then they should do that. I feel like it will go a long way. Even the Argus goodie bag is pretty shocking the last 10 years or so with pointless things. Make it relevant to cyclists. Again I feel the DC have really nailed it here again. Last year we got socks and a multi tool. This year socks and a base layer. Fantastic.
  18. Ange has been at a semi top club for what 11 games now? He’s never felt the pressure Klopp and now Arteta have felt before. Again, I will repeat. Let’s wait till decisions go against him and then we can talk respect. When the pressure is on, that’s when emotions run high. Spurs are still new to this and they’re definitely expected to win the league like a Liverpool or Arsenal. So you cannot compare the situations. If he keeps Spurs at the top challenging, that pressure will mount and then we’ll see how he handles it. Btw, Van De Ven and Maddison injured. Will be interesting to see how Spurs react now. Romero suspended as well.
  19. He got a yellow card for dissent because of a refereeing decision he didn’t agree with. So he’s preaching about respect but he didn’t show respect to the referee. Anyways, these comments will come back to haunt him when decisions don’t go his way. Yesterday, all the decisions were correct, if anything spurs got lucky as Udogie should have been off earlier and Romero kicked out before the penalty incident. So Ange had nothing to moan about. Let’s see how he handles himself when the opposite happens.
  20. lol. Why would Ange have anything to complain about? All the decisions were correct. Udogie shouldve been off in the first half for a 2 footed lunge also. I want to see how graceful in defeat he is when decisions go against him. Secondly, you realise he got booked as well? So much for respect to referees.
  21. What was the purpose of having the shorter route go first?
  22. Not sure why we cant just keep our chips from the durbie dash? Instead of paying for a new one every time.
  23. Cipollini frames are just a thing of beauty.
  24. Eish. Point taken. Just based on the advice here then, it seems that a conversion is not preferable. So either get a gravel bike and get better on the hardtail at tech stuff. Or get a full sus and use the hardtail for gravel events. Still doesn’t feel like im anywhere closer to a decision 😂
  25. Yeah, I’ll have to get a shorter stem to compensate but ill do the maths before i commit.
