  1. Welcome to the bikehub and more importantly one of the busiest threads on it. Good luck with your prep for number three. keep us posted as you go through the ups and downs of the training ahead
  2. No Epic anymore bud? or is the Epic still on too?
  3. @Tubehunter, happy belated birthday dude. Many it be an injury free year ahead
  4. Knee / ITB , no idea, one day it hurts walking up the stairs and then the next day like last night i was able to slow jog 4.7km without pain. i'm confused to say the least. Entered Soweto back in June so will see how the leg handles itself, else will do the HM or 10km if the legs isn't ready, else if its totalled i will still be there helping out at the club gazebo.
  5. So with the first day of spring here it's normally now that people start planning for the season ahead and make some lofty goals. So to all the usually quiet readers out there, who think they are to inexperienced to post on here as they haven't done a comrades, Two Oceans (OMTOM), marathon , Half marathon or even a 10km run as yet. What goals have you set yourself this coming season? Is there anyway some of the more experienced hubbers on this thread can help by sharing some knowledge that you have been unsure to ask for previously? Allow us help you along your journey to make your goals a reality.
  6. Their website says today EDIT: My bad, see that was for 2016 not 2017. #readfineprint
  7. Where do you enter OMTOM? cant find a link on the website, i must be missing something
  8. We all know, because you are going to get a Bill Rowan
  9. for our muslim brethren out there wont this mean its always on Ramadan ?
  10. That will be worse than ever before, its constantly up and down on tired legs. more scenic through the houses of morningside (Compared to the highway and through town) which could create a better vibe and carry people home but its going to hurt
  11. So after spending 2 and a half months doing stretching, hip exercises, icing, myofascial release, dry needling, hip alignment readjustment from the bio, chiro and physio, my ITB is better than it was but still not pain free. had to stop running on the treadmill this morning after 2km as the outside of the knee was hurting quite badly and the ITB was getting warm and sensitive, and i don't want to undo the progress so far. Now the question is, the Chiro said that seen as the alignment is done, the muscles have been attended to next step is chemical which means cortisone injections. now my question is, seen as its better than it was 10 weeks ago, should i wait another few weeks doing the stretching and icing etc and then take it from there or have i been patient long enough and should go for the injections?

  13. One would think that after only reaching target once in three months due to injury your target point would drop. Has anyone had their target lowered and if so how did you get that right?
  14. SWIM-BIKE-RUN 2 Day clinic with Joe Friel 29 / 30 September Not sure if anyone here is interested but Joe Friel is giving a clinic on all three disciplines. Individually each discipline is R250 or R600 for all three. They are after working hours so very easy to fit in. https://mytrainingday.com/products/swim-bike-run2dayclinicwithjoefriel?variant=44648411598
  15. 1.9km but if you swim like me, my 70.3 Durbz ended up being 2213mm in stead
  16. I Hate ITB. Hope yours will heal up soon. I'm still battling. In fact this morning i enjoyed my first ride since June without pain. So will continue stretching this week and this weekend go for a wog around the block with all fingers crossed and see where I stand
  17. So how was everyone's weekend training wise?
  18. Sky has let some big names leave, but i can't understand why Cannondale let Fromolo leave. They pumped the lightie up so much during the Giro that i thought he was going to be their long term plan for GT accolades.
  19. Happy Birthday Lexx, may the year ahead be injury free. Not wishing you plenty of PB's though, you will have to work for those
  20. Enjoy the weekend training everyone
  21. Good Luck to all for Old Ed's, wish i could be there, but alas i'm back off to the chiropractor this afternoon. And Hopefully picking up my TDF Fantasy win bike tomorrow
