  1. Hi Slowpoke We go on Hendrik Potgieter (HP) past Gordon Rd to Ontedekkers, then all the way along past Westgate etc to Key West/K'dorp Golf Course, down the K'dorp Hill (Hillsnacks), right at the bottom (Muldersdrift) and back along HP.
  2. Hi MicH We normally finish at about 6:30 to 6:40 - makes the average between 26 and 30 km/h. I understand the record for the loop to be 1:10 which makes for a quite staggering 38.5 km/h average, given that it's not exactly flat! By the way, I stay in Weltevreden Park, not far from the Allen Glen High School.
  3. Jeepers, IanJ, your name should be "Warped", not mine. Are you feeling OK? Mentally, that is?
  4. Thanks IanJ - see you there. Good luck to MichH and all the other night owls - hope the lights are in good order. It appears there's a bit of a clash for the endurance types this weekend. A pity, because both events could have benfitted if they were on seperate weekends.
  5. That training regime is a bit tough. Finding four hours a day 6 days a week is stretching it a bit for us working types. Even when on leave I doubt if I'll ride more than 5 days a week.
  6. Welcome Big Bad Jon! I, for one, will follow this series - hope the advice suits a range of levels. I recall with fondness your music and humor on the late night SAFM slot. One thing cycling has done to me (with the early morning rides) is to get me to bed considerably earlier than in those days.

  9. It can be difficult to coax your loved ones into eating the recommended five servings a day of vegetables. That?s why this recipe cleverly incorporates broccoli into a baked potato. Broccoli is an excellent source of fiber and cancer-fighting antioxidants. Potatoes are a universally loved vegetable loaded with vitamins C and B-6, potassium and fiber. And, best of all, this recipe is low in fat. You can make the stuffed potatoes ahead and reheat them when everyone is ready to eat. Ingredients3 large baking potatoes 2 large stalks broccoli 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil 1-2 tablespoons lowfat milk, rice milk or soy milk 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese Instructions 1. Scrub the potatoes and make shallow cuts around their middles to make it easier to cut them in half after baking. Bake the potatoes at 400 degrees until soft, about 1 hour, depending on the size of the potatoes. 2. Meanwhile, cut the ends from the stalks of broccoli and peel some of the outer skin off to make the stems more edible. Steam the broccoli until crunchy-tender and bright green. Drain and chop fine. 3. Cut potatoes in half and scoop out the insides into a bowl. Add the salt, olive oil and just enough rice or soy milk to allow you to mash the potatoes into a smooth paste. Add the Parmesan cheese and the chopped broccoli and mix well. 4. Pile the mixture back into the potato shells, arrange on a baking dish and heat them to desired temperature. 10. Presies Amoryns. Die fiets is swaarder en jy word sterker. Nogtans, vind ek dit snaaks dat Shane van 'n mtb na 'n "road bike" wil gaan. Meestal is dit die omkeer.
  11. Ag you woessies, I'm going to bed now. See you on the morrow?
  12. Let's just go for it. - 115 km from the News Cafe at Hillfox (Town Square). See how fast we get the first 50km's done?
  13. I am extremely sad to hear his news. My sincere condolences to the family. I am from that neck of the woods and it is extremely painful to hear about this.
  14. Ag, we'll just be there - Hillfox at 6am?
  15. Watch out where the huskies go, and dont you eat that yellow snow.
  16. Common Grapkas, you could be a bit more controversial than that.
