It probably is a bit of a risk. They normally ride in a fairly large group with radio contact between the front and back riders and always a "sweep" rider or two so that the group does not get too spread out.

Cateye Tripleshot. They are a bit expensive but work very well.

Im going to Knysna next week from thursday to Monday, I CANT WAIT.!! I found some singletrack loops out the back of town that are AMAZING I envy you. Have you ever done the MTB race down there. There are some really good single tracks up in the hills behind Knysna.

P.S. Was planning on doing Sani2C on my Full Suspension bike this year but my partner was assaulted rather badly and I had an eye op at the end of January.

By the way you should hope that you are still able to cycle when you are my age. My but the youth of today are so full of themselves.

I use mine on cross country and marathon events. There are down hills on these. The advantages of a full suspension bike far outweigh the imagined disadvantages. If you have a GOOD full suspension bike the weight should not be a problem. Mine comes in at about 11 to 12 kilograms.

Take a GOOD full suspension bike to your favourite fast, rocky down hill. If you don't go faster on the full suspension bike than on the HT then it is just your "fear factor" kicking in. To quote Cassius Clay "Float like a butterfly sting like a bee".

I have just done a 1 hour "coffee ride" on my road bike on an indoor trainer. Road bikes and indoor trainers are a pain in the a$$. I cannot wait to get back on my FULL SUSPENSION mountain bike.

] Nothing wrong with technology. Sometimes I hate it but most of the times I love it. Technology comes at a price. I'm not saying your weak, I'm just saying your a softy WRONG. The bike is the softy.

Once you have ridden a full suspension bike you will find it extremely difficult to go back to a hardtail. Full suspension is the way to go and NOT only for the old "ballies".
