  1. Yeah, and then some of them even have the audacity to try and sit on my wheel when i fly past them on my super fast aero road bike
  2. I missed the last Wahoo smart trainer at my local dealer by 5 minutes and i am still cursing myself for being so slow. The non smart trainer is soul destroying. Nice fat 20-25% price increase on the new wahoo trainers that will be available next month.......
  3. Well done. My "fitness" ( CTL score) has dropped alarmingly despite doing as many HITT sessions on the non smart indoor trainer as I could mentally handle. As a result I am too scared to do do a FTP test as the result will probably be too depressing. At least I managed 3 weeks of solid weight training so far and hopefully it will count for something sometime in the future.
  4. True, it is rubbish for everyone, but people react differently. It is human nature to speak from one's own perspective (or making it about "you")... one sees it often here on the Hub too. But yes, he is probably a bit of a nightmare to manage from a PR point of view, but on the other hand life would have been pretty boring if everybody was "perfect" .
  5. He was asked the question on twitter and answered as follows: "Or I could show the reality of how s**t the situation is and not be one of your beloved drones who show their ‘perfect world’ as an elite athlete. Which one would you like. Real or fake?”
  6. Very impressive especially as he was up against Sagan (lead -out) and Ackermann in the group that sprinted for the win.
  7. I wonder how much credit for the much improved performance of the team this year must go to Bjarne Riis?
  8. He is currently the third ranked sprinter in the team behind Nizzolo and Walscheid so his opportunities might be limited.
  9. Very clever indeed, and now the lead out man leads the race too.
  10. I wish everybody were like that. It is quite scary when a rider ahead of you start searching for food in the pocket of his cycling shirt while the bunch is descending at over 70km per hour
  11. It does, but under the circumstances I think the new route is the best the organisers could have done. At least the course is not easier than the original one and will give those who want to improve their Cycle Tour seeding ample opportunity.
  12. That is correct. I find the section from the N7 to Vissies mentally harder than the actual climbs up Vissies and Odendaals.
  13. I think 2020 will be more about Dennis and not about Dave as his main focus will be to win gold in the Olympics and Worlds for Australia (and himself). Dave will make sure he gets everything he needs in terms of equipment and science ( except the BMC). In return he might give Ineos one or 2 time trial victories in the Giro 2020 but the real payback will probably only be in 2021 where he will have to use his massive engine to pull Bernal etc through the fields of France and Italy.
  14. True.. and it has happened. But rather that then a car plowing into a huge bunch of slower riders on the N2.
  15. Lets hope the weatherman is right about the wind and wrong about the temperature.

    Giro d'Italia 2020

Interesting news. If Sagan is going to do both the Giro and the Tour I wonder where this leaves Pascal Ackermann?
  17. Sadly he has not really set the world alight in terms of results and therefore the top teams are not going to queue for his signature. If I had a pro team the only South African I would sign without thinking twice is Impey.
  18. He is far too good to be third in line when it comes to team selection (sprints) for the big races so the sooner he gets out of Bora the better for him.
  19. Based on his current form a top 30 will be an overachievement for him.
  20. Did you not see the smiley?
  21. Yeah, it was a tough one.. if he pulled the whole group across then his teammate Lawless who was in the group ahead would have complained ..you cannot win them all
  22. So you admit that he did make a contribution (work) in the front although it was short. That is what I saw as well
  23. I have no problem with British cycling decision as It is clear that Chris Lawless is currently in better form than Cav. Re Dimension Data it is a different story as their other riders are also not performing. Cav took a lot of flak for pulling out of the Tour of Poland but nobody seems to have noticed that he was in fact the only rider in the team who managed a top 10 position during any stage of the race. Anyway, the season is nearly over and he will be out of TDD soon so lets see how they go next year.
  24. It was mentioned in the media beforehand that Cav was going to work for Chris Lawless during the race. Those who have watched the race would have noticed his efforts in the front of the chase doing just that. His final result should be seen against this background.
  25. Oops, but we are sensitive today... i stated my opinion on the issue and that is all there is to it. If it gives you joy to have the same old go at the same sport star over and over again please do not let my opinion stop you from having fun.
