  1. No one disputes this. What we question is CSA's decision to limit the exposure our country, our riders, our talent have to market themselves overseas.
  2. It's a Capdase Racer. That's the mbike version, was like 50 bucks more than the mtb version, and has been on my mbike in use for nearly three years. MTB version: http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid=1&bid=27&mid=865&pid=11507 Motorbike version: http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid=1&bid=27&mid=865&pid=11510 Similar, but I found the motorbike one had less plastic and felt a lot more solid.
  3. Yeah. Meaning that rules aside, the UCI allows some room for national federations to do what is best for the sport when it comes to national titles. I think CSA dropped the ball big time here. I mean take the example of the USPRO champs. Even non US riders compete, and have won it before (although it does seem like Fast Freddie's name is already engraved on the trophy most years) but when they win, the jersey passes to the first US rider.
  4. I found two options, one MTB specific, and one motorbike specific. I use the all alumium motorbike one. Got it at Vodacom store in East rand mall. Will find the make and model for you.
  5. I love it. Pick up the pieces of the red wedding. Yay! Spoiler alert: There's another wedding...
  6. You mean like official sanction from CSA? That's a joke, right?
  7. All this anger and advocating violence. For what? Why not have a word, and if the bloke is a pratt, pick up the wrapper yourself and carry on. Life's too short, and chances are, when the pratt reflects on it, your actions in picking his crap up will have a much better effect on him than fisty-cuffs would. Unless he's a royal pratt, then you just let karma catch him.
  8. But cyclists riding against the traffic should be pushed under the nearest putco.
  9. Icarus. Melted before it even took off...
  10. I do that at my local Cajees. They have boxes of nearly new bits that they take off when they fit new stuff to people's bikes. I've found some good stuff there.
  11. Yeah, even if I don't (and I wont) greet you, I'm not picking on you.
  12. Someone give a name. Please.
  13. Could you prove that it was in that condition when you bought it? All the original seller has to do is say it was fine when he shipped it. You ball.
  14. All of this, and the OP doesn't even know what, if anything, is even wrong with the wheel. But he keeps on chucking a figure of R1600 out there.
  15. Go on, tells us the name of the shop. I wanna go see just how messy it is. I mean in comparison to Mean Machine...
  16. Change the thread title. Dear fellow South Africans, please have some respect and tolerance for each other. (Edit: maybe it's cause you didn't greet them. )
  17. Well, in all cycling, brand names are all important, in road cycling though, it's the brand name, as well as how much it cost. The more the better. What I mean, is that in mtb, some brands have a certain cachet. In road riding, price is king. As long as you had to take a second bond on your home to buy your kit, it is good. (This is of course after you sold your wife and children to an Arab Prince to buy the actual bike)
  18. The real answer, is that the road shoes on a road bike have the most important thing when it comes to road riding. The right image. So, in your case, yes, get the road shoes, shave your legs and get R4k white assos bibs. Enjoy the ride, go fast, go slow, suffer, doesn't matter as long as you look the part.
  19. Why has no one posted a pic of that Ruski's boobs yet?
  20. Chop the wheels into bits and stuff them back into the modem?
  21. Because if the made the elites race over 250-oddkm, only Impey and the MTN pto conti guys (u23 riders included) would be there at the end.
  22. Point 1 lifetime is always subjective and a marketing tool. Pointless. Point 2, is exactly what the manufacturer of a R100k+ bike should offer me. Something real. Point three, as with point one and two, yes, the warranty is something that influences my purchasing choice. Why do bike makers ignore this? Point four relies on transferability of the initial warranty in my mind. Point five, I am 1000% with you.
  23. Stupid argument is stupid. In ex'es, both have crap to answer to.
  24. Doesn't mean it has to be.
  25. Look at it this way. I can go right now and buy a brand new bike that cost more than a brand new car. If I sell them both the next day, the car goes with it's warranty and maintenance plan, the bike not. Both will suffer depreciation, and you take the knock for that. Why is the warranty of a bike attached to the person and not the thing? We as cyclists just sit back and take it once more. Would I commit fraud? Dunno, but based on the value of bikes these days, I'd think twice about it.
