For safety and security issues, a closed twitter group would be a better idea in my opinion. It's a good idea you have, but whatsapp is not secure. If you go the twitter route, run it as forced ssl only.

Yeah, last bike I bought new, I bought the frame, and it stayed wrapped up for nearly eight months while I bought all the bits, and then I only built it. One before that, I changed a few bits on a complete bike, picked them out at the shop, and they swapped them out before I took delivery.
