  1. lol pleasure bud. True on the simple yes no part, but im a flavour person, what fun would it be without some spice hee hee
  2. this might b the best add on the hub yet, recon most hubbers are heading out the door to stock up on lunch lol. Steers are gonna have 2pay you for the add
  3. keep those votes coming
  4. Im the strongest in our lil 4man team so I can see me doing 2-4 laps at a time each lap is about 30-35mins (maybe even 40mins at night) long, so that roughly equates to (giving it a chance here) 160mins (2h40) ride time, then I can charge while the others do their stints. Im a roadie but enjoy the MTB quite a bit so i do a few events between the road events. we did the 24hour last year but I crashed out on my second lap and didn't get to doing any night riding (not gonna try 2hard to get fastest lap this year lol). but I think we are all making this our little year end event every year, so instead of 94 being the end of year we making a social event like the 24hour our last 1 (Much nicer i recon)
  5. awesome, thanks gents. Getting some good info here, quite like the no cable story Dang, shot. will keep looking for some deals and post them up here 4u guys 2see and give ur input on. but i'll probably b in contact with u sean when the time is near (support fellow hubbers)
  6. So I thought (does not happen very often lol) it might be easier just adding a poll so that Burts can see a more acurate reflection. He asked the question 'who of the hubbers actually use CRC' O ya, u can select more than 1
  7. hmmmm ok, will check, didn't really check the specs of that light, saw the light looks power then saw price then smiled lol. My big issue with spending R1000 on a light is how do I justify it to my misus . . . . . eish.
  8. Yeah I believe it might b the best value for money. Will put it on the birthday wish list lol 24 hour starts on my birthday hee hee
  9. Just checked it out now, R849 for the MJ-808 and R999 for the MJ-816
  10. Dont know why I post things on the hub, I should just Phone Mamps direct lol.
  11. Hey hubbers, Im wanting to get some decent lighting for the fast approaching 24hour in december. However I do not want to pay these rather huge prices they seem to have attached , I am looking at paying round R500 for a front light. Question. Does any1 know of a really decent light in that price range? (can add pics of the light and beam it gives off if you like). CWC has a 'Sigma Mirage EVO Pro Light' For R500. CRC has a light called the 'Exposure WhiteEye Front Light'. It goes for round R350 (b4 taxes) Any1 have experience with these lights? OR Is it better to go with a light build kit? I remember a thread being on here about guys building their own. Good idea? general cost involved?
  12. my shopping list increased by 90% when i got that 10% discount hahaha
  13. Yeah I got it 2. will probably use it for the postage if I cant get the order up 2 R3000
  14. they only get stock of 1 or 2 of the items next month so no rush
  15. By the look of the compressed right side suspension she a tannie in a hurry must have been born in a tree house and hit every STUPID branch on the way down.
  16. Am putting an order through soon as they get stock of a few things, can add the spacers on it, considering ur from Joburg it might b a little easier. If any1 else from joburg is keen then let me know.
  17. I posted a topic a while back about how crazy I think our Polar agents are with their pricing. The issue I had was that my strap had ran its course and I needed a new1 but a new 1 in sa will cost nothing under R650 (R140 less than a whole new CS100 with all sensors, off of CRC) Legend MAMPARA quickly posted back to me, he said he has a spare 1 at home and if it still works I can have it. Was not what I was expecting at all and I was quite taken back by it, not many people would so easily help some1 out like this. on Thursday last week I met up with him at the satelite registration and got the sensor from him. Works like a charm! Cant thank you enough for helping me out bud, you are a legend
  18. smoking hot deals on any bike you want, as long as its black

  20. Wolf: Watch the hole Quin: What hole? *whack* Wolf: That hole lol dude i still kill myself laughing every time we ride past that spot hee hee (could have something to do with your tyre walls having issues hee hee)
  21. The problem is that most of our guys have to pay their own way anyhow, they just dont get sent.
  22. Jay and Stof are not track cyclists they were not even supposed to be on the track at the games but were thrown in the deepend. There are planty talented track specialists, TT specialists and additional road race specialists in this country that would have done alot better but sending 3-5 guys for everything was the cheapest option. Were was Mike Thomson (SA champ on the track for 2 disaplines and bronze medalist) he should have been option number 1 for the track.
  23. So my being from roodepoort has an affect on this issue?
  24. I do, I have been to past AGM's, it is always alot of talk and nothing ever comes of age, so unfortunately I do not have any wish to sit at the AGM only to be frustrated. so yes you assume correctly Peter, I was not there.
  25. so surely the membership fees go toward paying marshals to stand and do what they do, this is where I have my huge gripe and I posted it on another topic, We all pay memberships and as licensed cyclists you just have to grin and pay, even if you have no wish to be part of PPA. These marshals are as you say volunteers and are doing it for free, so nothing of the membership fees or the crazy race fees go to them. So Where does it go. The PPA is there not only as a body to run events but to represent US as the cycling community but again nothing is ever done, I have never seen PPA getting involved in cycling related issues, only when there is money floating round do you see the PPA banner swooping in. Tensions are high with cyclists lately and getting worse, friends are being killed on the road and hijacked on the trails, and what is done, nothing. CSA and PPA should be at the forefront of these issues and moving toward stamping them out but they stand aside when the fire burns and push in front when wallets are open.
