  1. O My Lord, I just realised who it is. Terry was a fantastic person and a absolute laugh to ride with, what a shock to the system realising this is someone you know personally. I always called him and my father Deisel motors as they would putter along at a steady pace up the climbs and really get going on the flats. I will never forget the first time I met Terry, was quite random as I was out training and he was racing, as always he was on the front of a large bunch pulling them along as the bus driver, being a young gun I came past and thought I'll get on the front and pull these guys. Terry quicky put me in my place and said hey, this is my bus youngster now come sit here at my pace lol. was such an amazing ride from there as we chatted (not knowing who eachother are or that he knew my father well) there is 1 thing he said to me that ride that has always stuck with me whenever I dont feel at 1 with my bike, he said "your riding style reminds me of a famous old cyclist, you probably wont know him, but his name was Bob Fowler" it gives me goose bumps every time as Bob was my Grand Father. Terry I cant express my sadness at hearing you have been taken from us, We will still be keeping an eye out for you on the roads as we always do. The roads will be a much sadder place without you peddling away on them. We will miss you dearly and ride with the memory of you in our hearts.
  2. The Same happens to the guys in the lead believe me, the difference is that they are alot more used to it and though they are suffering like u, they can hold it for longer and they recover alot quicker. The more you race the more you will get used to it, u can push a little further and recover faster. Its called racing fitness, no matter how much training u do there is a big difference between training fit and racing fit. Very NB is your warm-up, every race (be it road or MTB) u need to warm up, lactic acid levels build up faster at high intencity in cold legs.
  3. In all honesty we need to ride with more common sense and self preservation. Follow the rules of the road, simple. Far too many of us are jumping robots etc. (a child watching from a car will see some1 do that and think they can do the same on their bike, and thoughtlessly go jetting through a red robot). Ride two abreast fine, u will be seen easier but then learn to ride shoulder to shoulder (a skill all cyclists should have but way 2few actually know about) Having said that I must say, the bad apples are far and few between and I completely agree, motorists break way more laws than we do, and endanger not only themselves but others 2, we only endanger ourselves if we want to ride like mindless buffoons. there is only so much we can do (and I will not ride in the gutter where glass and all sorts gather when my 1 tyre costs as much as a car tyre) from there it is up to the motorist to be sensible and have some sort of patience in taking 2 seconds longer to get past me.
  4. Been waiting for Mamps's B One, haven't seen it built up yet, last I saw was the frame lol looks nice dude
  5. To be honest I would rather go with Campi chorus 11s or the new athena 11's, the athena full group is going for round R8000 retail. BUT thats just me, campi man all the way to the marrow
  6. Hey Guys, I am keeping an ear out for a memorial ride, nothing as yet but this is still to raw in every, specially 4 the family as i would imagine. possibly next weekend we look at having the ride.
  7. I appologize 4the miss facts, I was just relaying what was told 2me by my father who spoke 2bruce
  8. Adam And his family were on their way down to the junior tour and were staying at their farm. Adam said to his dad that we was going 4 a ride like he often did on the same road, later they recieved a msg from his phone saying 'cyclist has been knocked down' they raced out on the road and found him, HIT AND FRIGGEN RUN, it angers me so much its aparently a quiet road. Uncle Bruce I am so sorry about your loss, I know there is nothing we can say that will ease your pain but the thoughts, prayers and love of Glenn, Yvonne, Mandy, JJ, Rory and myself are with you. I will be making Black arm bands and shirts to ride in 4the rest of this month in memory to a promising young cyclist

He was quite choked up when I showed him this, thank you so much. Guys Silverstreak is the real person to be clapping 4, so many ppl did not even bat an eyelid when my old man asked for help and this man pulled over out of a comfortable bunch to lend a hand. What u give from the heart will truly be given back tenfold, Thank you so much again.

    Wheels

the best is to upgrade to a proper tubeless set of wheels, not a conversion. Other than that, I have no idea where ur wheels would fit in and what type would be the next step up lol Shhhh im a roadie after all hahaha
  14. That is awesome bud, glad it is going so well.
  15. lol welcome dude
  16. FAST time stands for Flexable African Standard Time hahaha
  17. Got a few beauties of what the ass looked like after my 'take out by developement rider at 65k's/h lol will post them on the morrow
  18. Large would b great 4u bud, Im 1.91 and ride a Large. If the frame is 2big for u then u will not b able 2 handle the bike as easily
  19. pleasure bud, Rollers arent as bad as they seem, just as long as you keep your momentum going u'll b fine, and standard rule even when out on the road, dont lean on the bars 2much cos it gives you less control, hands should just be resting on the bars (thats why set-up is important) sheesh i feel like a wealth of knowledge 2day hahaha Ride Safe
  20. Depends on the knit of the carbon bud, it is a known fact that all frames over time do get "tiered" and flex a little more than when u get it, thats why there is this big thing about frame stifness. So basically you do put your frame under a little more stress when it is not allowed to move freely, best bet if you are really worried about it is to get a nice set of rollers, they give u a much better workout 2, cant get lazy on them so it strengthens your core and you'll feel alot more sturdy on the road
  21. Us roadies are more hard core than u think lol we have 2deal with snakes basking on the hot road and taxi's. . . basking on the hot road hahaha, its a never ending war hee hee
  22. Holy crap!!!!!!!!! How huge is that beastie
  23. Lol If you haven't married her yet then push the date forward hahaha. Shimano's for training and eastons for racing
  24. O my soul hahahaha I cant believe that hahaha
