  1. I am so sorry to hear about the loss, my condolences. I hope the family find comfort in the lord. The driver must be locked away for life.
  2. They still around, my bro is 1 of their reps.
  3. Black route isn't bad at all, but as they say, you gonna have to do laps. haven't been there in a while so cant wait to try the new section they added on the other side.
  4. Aaaaaa this sounds awesome, cursid joburg
  5. I must admit, I dont ride in the small blade at all on the MTB so i personaly dont think a 32 will make any difference when it comes to difficulty on the peddle stroke, they both really light. Bare in mind, Im a gung ho Roadie from joburg lol
  6. Waaaaaaa hahaha what a proper wench, I hope she sees the footage and realises how dof she was. Poor dude is quite sorry about it to and it wasn't even his fault. She should go study Malacology is she like snails so much.
  7. Well done bud, Gets me negative how people think 'Its not happening to me so why get involved'. Respect for our fellow man has dissapeared cos most of those people dont respect themselves. It actually makes you feel good when you help someone out.
  8. Helps alot thanks, but if i do get then im still considering the CRC option, nice benifit to getting the extra monitor to pop on the MTB
  9. With Shaun Mackenzie? will b a lekka 1 for sure.
  10. Bud, Ur a legend, u riding the cradle this weekend?
  11. Far as I know the prices are fixed
  12. Hahahaha, shhhhh dont tell my misus. feels almost like the springbok bra, all the support and no cup
  13. Yeah the actual transmitter is stuffed Mamp's, had it for a few years so it was due, was out training and next thing I had no heart rate lol thought it might have been hekpoort (and i was lying back down the hill lifeless) lol but alas. The new 1's you can replace the battery if I am not mistaken
  14. My POLAR heart rate transmitter strap bombed out a while back (not bad as it has lasted me quite a while) But in going to purchase another strap I find that it will cost me nothing under R650 for the strap alone. I can get a CS100 (obviously comes with transmitter plus all the standard fittings) off chain reaction, pay postage and duties and get it for R790, I then have a spare monitor which i can put on my MTB and it only costs R140 more. How the greatness can our LBS's and the importer justify such huge markups, Shocking how we all getting ripped.
  15. When out training by all means, go ahead with it, hi-five! but in a race. . . . . . sies, there are impresionable kids around
  16. The tacs I picked up on saturday, times it by 5 as the 5man group I was in all picked up just as many (on the section from bergzicht down to the Circle)
  17. lol yeah its a shocker photo edit
  18. Right on myGT, we need to help fix the problem, not make it worse. I will post a pic of all the tacks I alone picked up. times it by 5 as our whole group picked up the same.
  19. I agree, the clubs dont seem to care much at all, it is generalising but CL and C100 were the main contenders. After 3 punctures we got to see plenty of the guys overlooking the rules. We a decent sized group of guys and know many ppl out there, though we not angels we try our best to follow rules and set the right example at ground zero. need more ppl to rally together and do the same. I will speak to a few ppl higher up to see if we can get any sort of ball rolling on this as I was so close to hanging up the road bike (something I have loved for years and my family has been a huge part of for even longer) after saturday and only hitting the trails on the mtb but i know something needs to b lead from the front to help this situation
  20. Nail on the Head, The guys have to pay for the whole thing themselves. Mike thomson and Gavin Kilpatrick had to find their own way to the Paralympics where they made us all proud. Seems all our fees go to back pockets somewhere along the line
  21. I could not believe the yellow belly actions that were taken this weekend by someone in the cradle area but the absolute stupidity of their actions. Throwing thumbtacks in the road is an obvious attempt to get rid of the cyclists in the cradle area that are breaking the rules and riding all over the road, BUT to ONLY throw them in the yellow/cycling lane is complete brainlessness (not mommies most brightest tool in the shed) the cyclist that got the punctures from these tacks ARE the cyclist that were following the rules and not riding in the road obstructing traffic, this then forced everyone out the yellow lane and into the road, where was the logic in this I ask you. Having said that, I completely understand the residents anger as my whole ride long I was shouting at other cyclists to stay in the yellow lane as tensions are high enough as it is and they are making things worse (2 particular clubs were the main culprates). While fixing punctures I watched a group of guys riding in the middle of the road (probably 10 strong) not 1 was in the yellow lane, after asking nicely pls ride in the yellow, we were told to F-off and thrown signs. Maybe we as cyclists need to take a stand against ourselves (namely the ones giving us a bad rep and thinking the price of their bike sends them up the cycling ranks) and maybe there we will change the attitude of the public toward us.
  22. Hi-five, I am glad there are some clear headed ppl out there who can see that their actions affect other cyclists not only themselves. slowly but surely we will change minds
  23. Ordered my XT's on CRC as I got the conti mountain king ust's at R300 pluss I had a special set of wheels built for my brother, so all in all I probably saved a few bob on the whole deal and that includes import duties. Cant wait for them 2 arrive.
  24. google earth is a winner winner chicken dinner
  25. Where the greatness is that?
