  1. Bad news - think the other event is a funrun.
  2. He should stay retired. His comeback is not about the bike but about making money.
  3. On your BMX???

  5. Kinda more like a recumbent
  6. Same thing happened with me except for ABSA for said no problem, gave another 30 days on my car and extended my overdraft. This happened about 15 years ago and to this date I amn still with ABSA.
  7. Their rationale is that the ride is a seeding event and with it comes extra costs.
  8. Mark my words - DC 2009 will be one feeding zone at +-100km possibly manned by PPA or another body with no back up vehicles on the road. If this does not work there might never be another DC. mdk5552008-11-24 12:28:39

  10. Hey Andre ct, Hope you get better soon. Cycling along Parklands main roads is a nightmare especially early am or when there is no traffic. Seems like there is a rule that if you can see car anywhere close to a stop street then there is no need to slow down. Andre, I will get that reg number distributed amongst our club in the Outrider News and lets see if we can catch this *&%er
  11. Hi, pm worcester wheelers as they have a club in the area.
  12. True - that's 826 timed riders and excludes those who had no timing chips + temp numbers (non PPA members) of which we sold about 200. Then there are also the F#@!*ing free loaders who jumped onto the ride at the first robot.. Next year I will have someone there to catch them. mdk5552008-10-26 11:41:44
  13. Hi Ian. Don't have the final figures but seems like we had about 1 400 which makes it the biggest Cape PPA ride so far in the Spring season. Summer rides building up to the Argus get up to 2 000 riders per event. Did you ride the WCE?
  14. I should have the TygerBurger pics tomorrow and will post ASAP
  15. Awesome!!!!!!
  16. By the mere fact that the pilot steers, brakes, changers gears etc it is a wrong assumption to say the pilot is the one in charge because trust me the stoker can make the bike turn, can stop pedalling and can just plain and simple get off. There is nothing worse than an unhappy stoker so if they say slow down, change a gear, speed up, take the corner wider .......then just do it as true pilots will always tell you that the the stoker is always right. Accept it.
  17. Skye - by the sounds of it I am presume that you have had a bad tandem experience. Must be honest that I bought the tandem for the missus and I to ride together. When we rode social it was great fun but when it came to some funrides and the competitive edge came in the frustrations rose especially when we could not hang onto bunch. The next season I rode with my boet and eventhough we weighed 200kg on the bike we had fun especially after fitting the Q-ring.
  18. Be very patient, dont expect her to be able to cycle the same ways as you do, expect some complaints/gripes from her that to you seem trivial but remember this tandem rule at all times...........the stoker is always correct - there are never exceptions to this rule. Check www.tandencyclingsa.co.za for some beginner tips. mdk5552008-10-14 23:11:43
