  1. Did it cross your mind at any stage that they might cancel? I can just imagine the huge disappointment you and the rest of the Epic riders must be going thorough right now just thinking of the huge investment in time training ,finances time away from the family leave from work etc etc anyway hopefully something positive comes out of this whole episode.
  2. When did the race organizers inform you guys of the "Epic" cancellation?
  3. Just make sure you all sterilize your bikes after each ride and you should be fine :whistling:what concerns me with winter approaching is when the roads are wet one has no idea what muck and bacteria is being sprayed up into your face/mouth and eyes from the road.
  4. Seems to be all sorted.
  5. Agree totally apply common sense on every trail you ride,be it blue through to double black irrespective of ones skill level..
  6. Nokia n7 plus whats been happening of late is my full commuting route is captured and recorded on the map but not the complete or full distance traveled,I get a message saying that GPS has been dropped for 5 minutes and I should check power optimization settings on my phone .I was wondering if there is a way to capture the km's lost seeing that the commute has been captured on the map.I have changed the battery optimization settings on a couple of my apps including Edomondo so that they are open even when they are not in use so will see if this makes a difference this afternoon when I travel home any help would be great
  7. Apparently happened early hours of the morning
  8. Something to do with power management
  9. Hi guys I am having another problem with endomondo would appreciate some help.endomondo is not recording my full commute.I get a message saying GPS signal lost for X amount of time?

  11. Thanks for the advice cat-i,I will give that a try.
  12. Hi guys just a quick question.I started recording my commutes on Endomondo from the 27 January 2020 and only realised on the 7 February 2020 that I had logged the rides under running and not transport is there anyway that those commutes for that period can be added to the challenge or is that wishful thinking?
  13. I reckon it doesn't matter what grade of trail you choose to ride be it green, red, blue or black it is how you aggressively and fast you choose to ride, that will determine the skills needed.
  14. Me to can't wait, and if only I had taken the time and effort to figure out how to save my morning and afternoon commutes to strava I would be able to claim over 10 000km's of commuting for the year maybe next year, well done to all those who were so disciplined during the course of the year crazy to think another year is almost done
  15. Well what did you expect when you post something that is so ridiculous.
  16. The thing that I picked up from this thread is that there are far to many people working on their bikes who shouldn't be.
  17. Morning all i also commute into town everyday around about 05:50-06:00 ,what time does this group leave Table view?
  18. Wish I was there this year ,done four of these events and thoroughly enjoyed each one,but finances don't allow this year
  19. Yes,saw an idiot this morning cycling on Marine Drive "looked like a serous cyclist had all the kit etc cycling in the direction of Cape Town around 06:15 still very dark and there is no yellow emergency lane on that stretch of road but to make matters even worse this chop had no lights crazy.
  20. A very small percentage.
  21. I agree the price of race entry fees are getting expensive but then again everything seems to be going up in price and when one starts adding associated expenses like the cost of getting to and from the venue pre and post race refreshments it starts getting prohibitively expensive for the average person to afford especially if you take the family along.I used to do plenty of races in a season but no more I will rather pay for a day permit.
  22. I thought I might have been a little early
  23. I didn't take part in this event but took a ride through from Durbanville to Tweede Tol on Friday left at about 9am and thought I may meet some of those who were doing this event ,didn't see anyone along the route to or on my cycle back to Durbanville ,also Campsite was very quite but still was a beautiful day to be on your bike and to see all the water on the mountains amazing
  24. I have done a few of these XCO events and would love to take part in the series but cannot justify spending so much on entry fees.
