Weather is a little offish today but it is still happening tonight.

We'll find this out. The problem is I always start the night ride from SPAR side as its safer to park our cars there. We are not allowed along the far side of the dam which means we will have to cycle on the road to get to the vineyard side of Majik... in the dark of winter. With respect to them not wanting us there i can understand but then who will maintain the paths and bushes. Possiby we should stay out the forest for a TRIAL month and see how bad things get in there. I will wait for thursday night

This is good. We need to show presence. I am also interested to hear WHY they would like us out of there?

Majik forest night ride. Park at SPAR parking lot at 18:00, Ride to Botrivier park, after meeting we go through to the forest. If meeting takes too long we leave at 20:00 so expect a late ride. Perhaps we buy a pizza and take it to the park for snacks.

How do WE take responsibilty? I drive the speed limit. On a bicycle i never go through red lights, I do stop at stop streets and always put safety of myself and motorists first. (they also understandably shutdown while driving so i can forgive them for getting close to the yellow line) I have seen a sponsored team in pink along otto du plessis jumping robots and then going down the middle between cars and on the left all at the same time. How can every driver at the end of a miserable work day not be furious with them? I greet, make eye contact, smile if i can at all motorists. I am making a difference so no, i wont take responsibilty for cyclists with god like complexes. The police should be letting cyclists know what the law is by distributing it via clubs/bike shops/legible websites. We do ride with lights on on the way down. A decent light is a must otherwise its gona take long to get down.

The usual Tuesday night ride has been moved to Wednesady 20th Jan. Same time same place

I forgot to mention we do this in reverse on the way home too. The times are not set in stone but in order to be at the office by 8am, we use the times above. every now and then we leave a little earlier and take a ride through the waterfront.

We commute fairly regularly from Blouberg, milnerton (Basically along Otto du Plessis) to CBD. This is NOT a road ride and a MTB will be essential. They have just cut the grass so there will definitely be thorns. (Picked up about 20 on my last encounter) so slime/tireliners/tubeless a must. We use the half completed cycling lanes and then paths along the sides of the roads. About 35% tar will unfortunately be encountered. Ride time about 40-60 mins depending on Traffic lights and fitness of riders. We ride as fast as the slowest person. Apparently its thorny so tire liners or tubeless a must.

I dont know why they dont mention this sort of thing at the beginning of the races as well.
