  1. The huts were built for a photographer who does weddings or something along those lines. Did you see "The King" was out of his pen today?
  2. If i could only get a 20" presta tube..... OKO works wonders in the tubes but have had failures due to rim tape cutting tubes. Changed rim tape and all was better.
  3. If its dual air: Take your total weight (kit, backpack, shoes etc) And add that as your positive pressure. Check your sag. Now add 10psi less or more in the negative depending on your riding style. The minimum pressure rock shox will handle is 60psi. The pssst you hear when unscrewing the pump is the air in the pipe. Go ride with your pump and play around on the trail. Also if its a new shock you need to ride it in for a bit.
  4. What SDG saddle is that?
  5. * partnership with Raleigh or who-ever to manufacture/promote and sell/handout millions of beginner basic bicycles - for commuting. Flippen brilliant idea. This has so many benefits for everyone.
  6. The three day at nelsons is nice. Well organised but you start on Friday morning which has always stopped me from doing the three day. I have done the 2 day and can say it gets really dirty so take 3 sets of cycling kits and a box for your smelly used clothes.
  7. Tubed or tubeless? I would have suggested the tried, tested tires that you cant go wrong with, Nevegals too. (depending on sealant these can bubble)
  8. What I want done? I want them to use their power (Argus is one of their tools they dont use properly) to increase cycle awareness, create safer commuting (routes and driver/cyclist education). What is my pet hate? PPA in general. They mess up Mountainbike races and never take responsibility. Any question is answered with a question "Are your membership fee paid up?" Increase memberships? Restructure, change the top tier of the organisation and allow young blood in. I joined, realised it was a cash cow for some fat cats and never renewed. Instead put the money towards AMA, which by the way is the perfect example of how a club should be run. Even little Tygerberg club has me as a member and i dont even live in the NS. PPA can learn alot from these 2 clubs.
  9. Question 14 should be on a scale as all those points are valid. Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. We appreciate your input. Yours in cycling the PPA Executive Committee Nobody2010-06-07 07:40:20
  10. Bike, Fork x 2, BB, Seatpost, Odd and ends, = R25K plus And thats not including the ads from certain shops. Now i need to sell some stuff.
  11. I couldnt make up my mind so i put the Nics up front and crossmarks at the back. So far so good. Only complain is that the nics are thinner than they shoudl be for a 2.1
  12. Interesting... http://www.blackburndesign.com/lights.html http://www.knog.com.au/Category.aspx?categoryId=5 http://www.serfas.com/products.asp?CatID=10 http://www.topeak.com/products/Lights These will be the most available prodcuts here
  13. R100 for knog lights. Just got the beetle for up front as ai have the 5 light at the back. Very good on batteries but a mission to change the batteries in a hurry. GF has the 3 light version and in a year i have chnaged the batteries once (about 50 hours use on night rides and when i cant find my lights )
  14. Arent carbon frames made by winding fiber over a mould (polystyrene)? What they use to remove the ineer mould could be what caused this...
  15. You refering to the 100 miler? Mail Dirtopia and ask. They VERY accommodating but a late entry on the day is out.
  16. Dear Affiliates, If you have any members that were robbed of their bikes in the Vaal River area please send them the following information: The police at the Vaal Marina Station have recovered 9 stolen bikes and would like people that have been robbed of their bikes in the area to go and have a look and see if their bikes are amongst those recovered. The officers that can be contacted in this regard is Insp Pieter Viljoen 079 692 4860 and Captain Wessels 079 692 4853. 17. That might be wheel revs. Bearings dont go around the hub as often as one thinks. http://www.howstuffworks.com/bearing.htm/printable
  18. Just dont use USPS. It will NEVER arrive.
  19. Williams has been carrying morewood for a long time. He is the only one (and ben) who touches my Zula.
  20. SRAM has better service, FAR better than shimano. They are also local in the cape so its quicker and then there is the competitive pricing...
  21. I was refering to the tire clearance. Its my firsy duallie as well and it takes some getting used to. Its a couch and you dont feel the ground/stones/little bumps like you do on a hardtail. Perfect bike for stage races and 100 miler. I have also not followed the norm and use Shimano instead of SRAM products.
  22. Depends where you based but you looking at about the 15500 - 16500 mark. Rush sports is worth a start to look. At Sani, all the spesh guys got special treatment form the spesh tent. The morewood tent was busy doing other bikes and would give my bike special treament for a not so special fee. Make sure you get it from LBS so any after market claims etc becomes their problem.
  23. What they omit from the review is the cabling is a night mare. Mine comes out whenever it gets washed and sometimes on a ride. I know there is a quick fix of cable ties or filing down the hole. Also the clearance is not that great when you put a slap sock on. Compared to a shova it is much harder to clean. Still love my bike though.
  24. Oh yes, if you go the shimano crank route you just remove the adapters.
  25. The truvativ are tapered on the drive side. If you have the hopes already then you wont have to worry for a long time. They are servicable and parts readily available. http://www.rushsports.co.za/Browse/?category=8
