  1. Got mine aswell for the 42km
  2. Hi Rasper, found a nice workable training plan the other day. Monday - off Tuesday - 60 - 90mins of high intensity with most climbing , e.g. hill repeats ( or just go find some hills to climb) Wednesday - LSD( Long Steady Distance) @ 70% for 90mins Thursday - 60 - 90 mins of high intensity, focusing speed/pace Friday - off Saturday - Long intense ride, 2 - 4 hours Sunday - Rest/easy ride This plan is more for MTB riding Repeat! You can obviously adapt it to suit your schedule. Hope this helps.
  3. No offence, but have you checked the classified section here?
  4. Mate of mine bought a Titan Carbon Race for slightly under 15k. Very decent bike! XT components

  6. If you google MTBKING99, he advertised a Fox Float CTD fork as well. Did you have a Fox CTD fork on your bike as well? Put his info on here if you find it.....maybe one of us will go and pay him a visit.....
  7. haai no shame lolol Let the oke spend his hard earned mandelas on what he chooses. Cant stop laughing a Rooi Willems " Wat n *** besluit" comment.....yusso....hy tjoon hom straight ou pel! lolol
  8. Howzit, ons ry Bottelary so nie te ver van jou af nie. Amazing trails, en baie veilig. Jy's welkom om te join. Al ding is, ons ry nie so vroeg nie.
  9. Yup, a set of ZTR crests doesnt cancel out a beer boep!
  10. Maybe I worded it wrong. 1kg down on the bike makes a muuuuuuch bigger difference than 1kg body weight loss. 1kg is 1kg yes...but does not have the same impact in terms of mountain biking
  11. This should be FIRST on the list!! lol
  12. Maybe a suggestion seeing as you are planning to use two bottles. Use one for water and one for energy drink. 2 bottles of energy drink for that distance would be an overkill. If the trails gets muddy, u can also use the clean water to rinse off the mud buildup on the Front derallieur if its that bad. Otherwise...enjoy your first race!
  13. 1kg on your body does not equate to 1kg on the bike.
  14. Unfortunately for most of us....you ride what you can afford. Whether its good enough or not. Most pro's dont pay for their bikes anyway...so they are not applicable. My 2c
  15. MAnitou Tower Pro can do 120mm. I have a 2012 with a 20mm TA. Currently running 100mm travel on mine. Mine is straight streerer. Mine actually came off an Ellsworth
  16. Yup I know what he was asking. Just wanted to be clear on my experience. My 29er rims initially had 9mm QR, but i opted to go 20mm TA
  17. I went from riding a 26er with 9mm QR, to a 29er with 20mm TA. There is a difference. Its not exponentially different, but its definitely better. I also read those articles Hayleyearth posted before i went 20mm TA. Like with anything...good equipment often raises your confidence
  18. Try Velo Life

  20. Also planning to go...but not sure whether its Saturday or Sunday. Need to get myself out of some of my commitments
  21. hehe...all good. One of the ladies personally commented on the thread
  22. New entrance to the green route from Hazendal is a bit dodge in that okes could jump you from behind those bushes if your not vigilant. Keep an eye out. Long green loop on Sunday was amazing...weather was perfect and ground was fairly solid!
  23. mmmmmmmm...bit late....this has been discussed to DEATH! hehe So just a heads up...put on your flame suit....or get ready for the silence....
  24. Funniest **** Ive read in a while!! lolol
  25. I can do the basic clean lube, and all the necessary stripping and assembling. But its the derailleur adjustments, brake adjustments, spoke tensioning etc that I'd rather not touch. I've tried...and failed horribly! lol But the more I fiddle, the better i get...
