  1. http://chaintamer.co.za/product/chaintamer/ Anybody bought this, whats the take on this?
  2. Now this you need to spill, which shops offer this service
  3. whichever way you go, its going to cost you money forever.
  4. This is it!!! I find this joy of upgrading the kids bikes aswell. They dont care much, but it makes me believe we bonding when we fitting the items or when I end up swearing and sweating whilst trying to fit it
  5. soon this will be my cure , banker will quit on me and resign
  6. Window shopping is playing with fire, you will take that chance and get burnt Trust me i dont have tons of disposable income, but i have I have learnt how to sell off many items that I have just been hoarding around the house that inturn can fund this hobby. so it has some plus side too
  7. admin must have a 10minute limit per day for this disorder Already looked at some steel frames- but im not dipping my hand into that pond just yet...... this i fully agree with, i made a mental note that I need to spend alot more time riding and enjoying the outdoors than seeing " what next" I capped myself at not paying more than R50k on a bike, for now atleast as that to me doesnt make sense to spend that much when I know in few years i need to buy my kids cars etc, however a gravel bike is very tempting tho, too tempting
  8. Thats the drug, always something newer that has promise of being faster or lighter Even when have the best, we still keep on looking. Then we will be living out of caravan with 4bikes worth over a 1million ZAR lol
  9. Man its crazy!! I defs got the CUDs My wife thinks my bike about R10k , as when i showed her bikes beofre it was alway in that price range ....way back then when i started riding
  10. I am sure we have many hubbers like me.....and we need to form some sort of support group ( the hub aint the support group as it fuels the addiction more ) I am ALWAYS looking at buying something new (or new to me) for this hobby - bike, parts, accesories or anything related to this hobby. Iv purchased new cars, never needed to add or buy so many accesories, same when I had motorbikes. I use to keep Marine fish (nemo's) and that had potential to buy endless fish and accesories etc - yet I wasnt that addicted to searching and looking for new things to buy as I am with MTB'ing. I been running for years, yet ocntent with one pair of runners a year and only changed out watches once every 3 years or so. I even enjoy changing up my kids bikes or adding better components, so its not only to buy things for me I enjoy my bike and not into chasing strava times or entering competition etc , i just love getting outdoors with any bike. Do any of you folks also have this obsession, always looking to get something new , be it a new water bottle to new carbon rims or adding more bikes to the selection. If my wife only knew how much i actually spend on this hobby
  11. FB marketplace had freeride in great condition for R1000
  12. agree, my price range for bike is the R50k max mark and the new stumpie woudv been perfect as I love how it looks and the reviews seem awesome so far. Most ppl dont want entry level for R40k, so the R50k to R60k mark is a big portion of the market that they will lose out on, then again Spez is trendy brand so I guess the cult followers and the newbies with lotsa cash will still throw the Rands at Spez store regardless
  13. Let me know the results or feel of the other chainring when you eventually pull the trigger to buy. I would welcome this change too
  14. Yeah they do all their tricks and jumps on the mongooses they have. If i find another 29er with that low standover i will take it. Else a small 26er,as you guys advised its better for them to manage and improve ther skills on a more manageable bike. Only reason behind 29er now already is from having to fork out cash for new bikes so often as they grow fassssst
  15. Yeah i saw that myself young kids doing mad ramps, so im trying to expose my boys early on
  16. The 591 I have a 591 and 598 on my car, personally no considerable difference. 598 has the angle mounted wheel strap, seems to ground bike wheels abit better. The main clamp onto frame has the torque limiter to prevent over tightening, great if you have carbon frames but definitely not a must have. I had thule free ride before, was just as good and sturdy too at much less of a price tag
  17. I will take pic later
  18. Exactly the Titans i have been eyeing.Even a silverback spectra has low standover height.
  19. How many proride racks you looking to buy? My cousin was selling proride for R1800 in great condition
  20. Need input plz. I have 3 sons 9,8 and 3. 9 yr old rides on a xs 29er trek x caliber with steeply sloped topbar. 8 yr old ride 26er small avalanche that i had to return to my brother that was on loan. So i need to purchase another bike. Do i buy s 29er with same steep sloped topbar or get a medium 26er with same steep sloped topbar. Yes the 9yr old just about touched his feet on ground while straddled over the bar.Same with 8yr on the 26er. They both into riding their bmx bikes however they enjoy the odd gravel ride on mtb. Do i buy another 26er medium or 29er small? 9yr old gets small 29er(a new potential bike) 8yr old gets handed down xs 29er trek Bear in mind keep the bikes as succession plans for them as they grow, hand me downs. My concern 26ers are becoming outdated and kids grow so quick, however iknow they be comfier on 26er.
  21. Agree the fluid 1x12 does feel sluggish, i feel that too on way home from the trails. Only option is bigger chainring right to remedy this?
  22. Nice upgrade on that brakes, were you having issues with brake fade or just not fast enough braking? FS3 is 1 x 11 right? Will the oval really help much? Or is it just hype?
  23. its perfect for that filler series to watch Kick me out after the first round, atleast i score the kit, wonder if the bike also yours
  24. My brother has bought a set of hydraulic brakes from them, no issues at all.
