  1. Well then i will need to test and Evil sometime, i feel intrigued by this now Bikes look damn hot, just pity not that many around in CPT.
  2. I also tried to get reviews on this bike - fairly new so doubt that will find many reviews I have seen few go for sale again - not sure if its due to financial reasons or due to the bike not being upto spec however the bike is nicely specced and priced
  3. Agree, yes COVID has affected global supply but I can assure you imports into SA is back to its pre covid status - im in the shipping industry. Supply from factories to get to full production to meet the global backlog might be the factor but rest of the world went back to production prior to SA so they should be in some sort of recovery by now. Fully agree - if you choose to go online then you need to keep due diligence and either update your website accordingly and respond within 24-48hrs to email queries to ensure customer retention.
  4. Cycle lab often has few killer deals. Yeah, im also changing from coil to air fork, just more responsive And lockout works well especially when i use 24km roundtrip of road to and from the trails
  5. What bike you fit this on? This aint the Norco. Why you upgrade the fork?more travel? I just emailed evo bikes, will call in the morning
  6. Take it back immediately, u never gave it to them in that condition
  7. Man you are awesome, lets hope he still has it. Its a small frame aswell so lets hope its available. Just want him to get into the hobby with decent components
  8. Shot , will put that on the shopping list So essentially I need to lookout for straight steerer with QR anything else i need to look out for that will fit on this bike? obviously non boost
  9. So I have started rebuilding my sons bike, Trek Xcaliber 5 2014 29er. I purchased new sram drivetrain that i got for dirt cheap and also got set of shimano hydraulic brakes as its currently mechanical. I however want to get new fork for this bike, as current coil RST blaze is done with. I dont want to purchase new fork, so i will be scanning the classifieds for a good deal. Issue is, not sure what fork to look out for - spec wise that will fit this bike.? any idea or info as i scanned the web but still doesnt give me definitive answer Basis web searches its 1/8 Straight steerer any help will be appreciated
  10. For reals, is Evil that great - interesting do share more or maybe not on this thread What brands have you owned prior to the Evil or comparing it to?
  11. Yeah my first few rides on the bike did feel weird and uncumfy- you def are right in that regard where you need to adapt to the new ride/feel. That is a real fear now, the bike isnt as agile and im going to see my gat on turn or jump
  12. across the lower back just above hip bone if im explaining correctly, pain was more dull ache that lasted 2 days. I lowered the bar by placing spacers above instead of below the bar, but didnt roll the bar what do you suggest?
  13. I blame the mad surge in demand for bikes since COVID. Bike demand shot up during covid, no bikes came in from over the waters and that obviously meant local built brand like Pyga was selling off more than usual as they were available and excellent bikes. and maybe the timing of the OP queries were just bad - but no excuse for crap service especially if it came from senior Pyga members
  14. This is something that I never considered and you raise a valid point, bike was designed in a particular way, but i am certain they allow for some room for adjustment due to people body variations - i hope! Im sure we can make up a list of qualified&experienced downhill/enduro folks who are more experienced in the bike fitting dept . Sports science was thorough and have a free follow up aswell, so take nothing away from them just that too many people suggested that 90mm stem and 2 to 5cm setback is abit way too much adjustments. I will see how it goes after this wknds ride and if i can still throw the bike around like I did with the normal stem
  15. This was my concern by going to sportscience as my theory was they more focused on road bike fit, but he assured me and few hubbers suggested that they exactly what they doing- I believe they do, to a point. As i am in this for singletrack and lots of downhill/enduro style riding. Thanks man, i hope so too. I come from years of marathon running so I assumed that assisted in building a strong core , although lockdown did take a toll on my regular running regime
  16. After buying this new bike after 2 or 3 rides i didnt feel as cumfy as before and got some lower back pain the days after riding. Then opted for bike fit. I got adjusted by 6cm on my reach. Im not keen on getting setback post as you advised the strain on the stanchion will probably affect the longevity of the dropper. Im ride for few weeks and assess
  17. So i got this advice from the ergofit bikefit at sports science institute in Claremont today. He believes I need just 2cm adjust to the rear after adding the 90mm stem. Im 1.70m on a medium frame on a Norco Fluid, think the geometry is just hectic. As per the bike fit i dont have out of the ordinary length limbs. I doubt i would need a large frame though. But i will see how i feel after i ride this wkend See spez offers setback dropper, but slight setback
  18. Anybody know who sells Setback dropper seat post? 31.6mm diameter- atleast 130mm + drop I need setback of about 2 to 5cm - as already have 90mm stem fitted
  19. That buzz just sounds so premium man Like purchasing a Ferrari and telling them to please silence the engine and exhaust as its irritating.
  20. RC are excellent, try get stoked distribution they have online store
  21. call some of the specialized stores, i bought a pair from the older range for R1400 I called all the Western cape stores and eventually got at the Stellenbosch store. Wasnt advertised online as its the older stock but they still had a few pairs ( that was in August though )
  22. i agree, rather invest in the tools and learn the trade by trial and error so that atleast you capable of doing most things yourself Will be some lessons learnt, this i know where I will end up having to go to lbs - but these parktool videos seem damn easy to follow. appreciate it alot
  23. This is super helpful - thanks alot man youTube pulling through again
