He looked fast even before the others tyres wen off. Look at the aerial shots of him riding behind Lorenzo - he was clearly a LOT faster and being held up. The corner speed that he can carry is ridiculous, and that gives him the excessive drive out of the corners. There are no seriously long straights on this track, so the Duc's didn't get to play their advantage card. Last year by this stage it was Marc's season to lose. This year he's not even featuring in the top 4. It's going to be an exciting season!

It must be a motivating factor for him to prove them wrong! He's a great rider though - the Tech 3 bikes haven't been doing anywhere near as well as they were when Cal and Dovi were riding them. I'm seriously impressed with the Suzuki though! 2nd in qualifying and then doing well-ish for the first few laps. It's very clearly down on speed, and EsA was pushing too hard through the corners to make up the difference. A bit more speed and he'll be right up there. Impressive being only three rounds in.
  4. My buddy had an MBX 50 which I wheelied into a wall for him one day I used to do this with my MTX 50 and YZ 125. Never had a whoosh of woof - just a gradual burning flame. I was always hoping for a nice BANG! Or at least some kind of minor injury or something...
  5. I used to do that Would pour petrol into it too - was never as exciting as I wanted it to be...

It's his first year on the Honda though. Wonder if he's bummed about leaving Ducati now that they're quick for the whole race?

The last two years he's been riding injury free though, apart from the recurring arm pump issue, sometimes even on top form. The end of the season against Lorenzo in the year before Marc came to play is a prime example of how good he can be.

I see... So we have to hope that Dani stays injured then Dani used to be my favourite rider, but he's just not aggressive enough anymore. Poor Dani

Interesting... But surely Aoyama faces the same challenges regarding the lack of knowledge of the bike and the tracks as Stoner would? Is it just because of the higher expectation on Stoner to be fighting with Marc? As Rossi would say - I want to see a battle!

I wonder if HRC even asked Casey? At a track that he's never raced at it's not ideal though... Also wonder if having him in would mean game over for Dani? Even if it was only temporary.

    Can't wait for this weekend!
  12. Depends who you fly with. Some airlines classify bikes as 'free sporting equipment' so you don't pay anything. Others will charge you as a piece of luggage. Check with your preferred airline or make your call based on who offers free sporting equipment. I know that SAA and British Airways both offer free sporting equipment and I've transported bikes and paragliders with them with no issues.

I got an AGV because Rossi has one... Looks better than all the others
  14. Maybe it's because he doesn't speak English

Why must they have two weeks between races?* One week is too long. I want to watch more right now! I'd love to go to all the races - follow them around the world. The vibe at the races is amazing!

I think that Rossi being an amazingly talented rider worked for him. He gets the best out of any tyre - new, worn, shredded, wets - doesn't matter.
  18. Finally something that I want to buy on there and it's sold out...
  19. Quick question that I don't know the answer to - why is the east/south side of Silvermine not open to cyclists? I know that the rest of Silvermine wasn't open for cycling a while ago and don't know the story to how that came about either. Looking at trail hiking maps it looks like there are a lot of trails on that side of the mountain - was just thinking that the fire could provide a nice opportunity to develop some riding trails on that side. Or is this a total no go option for whatever reason?
  20. This April fool is too close to reality
  21. And risk facing a R2500 fine? That's an XT brake set right there. It also doesn't help the cause for those of us who are trying to play along and not be seen as a nuisance to the people calling the shots. Everybody wants to ride, but don't be selfish about it.
  22. Reminds me of the traffic lights that I used to encounter in Canary Wharf in London:

Is Marc going to get a penalty point for this? He got one last year when he did the same thing to Dani - although Dani crashed because of it... But still.

I also saw the 357 from Dovi on my screen, but motoGP says differently: http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2015/03/29/marquez-sets-fastest-ever-recorded-speed-in-motogp-during-the-commercial/172897
