    My cycling has taken a big knock since the fire. I've even lost the motivation to go out on the road bike. No cycling since the Argus... Feel lost without Tokai

    My old boss had a completely stripped and rebuilt 240Z with the RB26DET engine from a Skyline put in it. It was even meticulously sprayed underneath. I could lick it anywhere. And the speed! And sound! I just drooled a little bit at the memory... Pity I don't have any photo's of it completed, by here's some "in progress" pics: I'll always have a soft spot for a 240Z

    To be honest, I don't understand the blanket closure. I can see why Tokai is off limits for right now (not 6 - 24 months! But that's another point...) but I can't understand why the whole park is off limits. I usually cycle into Tokai from Ou Wapad, and was thinking that while Tokai is off limits I'll just go up Ou Wapad and around Noordhoek Peak - it's all jeep track so should be fine! But no - blanket ban. I truly don't understand this. Where is the danger in that? There's no damage to the environment, no chance of a rock or tree branch falling on my head and no burnt out underground roots to fall into. Why must everything be off limits? Besides, I think that seeing the desolation in the aftermath of the fire coupled with the new growth that I've already seen coming out is quite beautiful, and would really enjoy watching it develop. Some access must be allowable to non danger / eco sensitive routes. Who can we bribe?

    Town, Sea Point, Kloof Nek, DeWaal Drive, M3 to end, back to Constantia and over Rhodes Drive. Could have at least made it scenic... What a waste.

    Like I said on the other thread, I'd rather it was cancelled outright than have such a short ride. I'll be waiting in my start chute for longer than this ride will take. Pathetic.
