My comment sounded dumb, I just meant they give the engineers a direction to go in, but what comes out on the other side might not be exactly what they wanted, or maybe they pushed it too far, like what has happened this year to MM.

So you're saying it's not easier bike to ride on the limit ... not sure we're watching the same series then. Compare the results of all other Honda riders vs all other Yamaha riders Go read motomatters, one of the guys who actaully knows what he is talking about https://motomatters.com/analysis/2015/05/17/2015_le_mans_motogp_sunday_round_up_why_.html

Made a wrong decision this year in the direction of the bike, but he'll be back to winning champs, I for one would not bet against him. But yes, like any other Motogp forum, this one goes down the same route, "my rider vs your rider", not about the sport.

There cannot be any rider who is ever the best, best at what, riding 2 strokes/4 strokes/with tc/without tc. Best of a specific era maybe. Marc riding a bike that is an animal that's not behaving, the Yamaha okes have a breeze riding that bike. I pity anyone who thinks Marc will not destroy everyone once that Honda is sorted, like last year.

Hip hip for MM, showing some real strategy there with pitting just at the right time haha. The Champ is in the bag for Yamaha (unfortunately for me as a long time HRC boytjie), but from those 2 I would like Rossi to take it.
  6. I'm sorry to hear about your issues with your Anthem, mine has had no issues in the 1.7 years of ownership. Mine creaks sometimes but it's only the seat post that needs some grease now and then. No other problems. I've heard of Scotts breaking rear triangles, the DT Swiss Nude Shock at the back totally SUCKS, my friend had to replace the shock twice after it started leaking air like crazy. Go ride a Scott spark and then you'll see that you will be bouncing a lot more than on than Anthem. The Scott suspension is not as efficient as the Anthem that's a fact.
  7. Every year there has been an slight improvement to the frame design. Apparently this does not happen so regularly anymore. I have a 2014 and so far so good. Please remember, you will ALWAYS see more complaints about a product on the internet, than people without an issue. Thus it looks like most owners have issues, but it probably 1% of all the bikes. As long as you are the original owner, you have a lifetime warranty on the frame, so what's the big deal ... Anthem is also not built for big drops, it's a xc bike so should be treated as such. saying that I ride mine in rough and tough rocky terrain and it had stood up like any other bike.
  8. Iwan, Is the one you tested (FRC120) sidewalls weaker than snakeskin I presume? Would snakeskin be like the 60?
  9. I also need to understand the requirement for this license, as all races say that you need to present it, but I have never needed to present it ... talking about USN/monster etc MTB races.
  10. Awesome wheelset for the price, I came from a Giant hub, so the engagement is quicker than that so for my not an issue. Only issue is I managed to dent the rear rim running too low pressures obviously. Ran 1.5, learnt my lesson ... it's definitely a dent from low pressure not from a stone or anything like that.
  11. And I take it an 11 speed chain?
  12. So I'm running wide lightning rims on 1 x 10 slx crank with raceface ring setup. Will I be able to upgrade to 11 cassette (11-42) by only buying the new cassette and new shifter? And i take it the current XT RD model will work on the 11 casette without issues?
  13. I won't pay 30k to hike-a-bike every day ... yesterday it looked like a hiking trail with everyone walking in a row, seems people just accept it that the guy behind them is also walking, everyone walking in the middle of the path ... Does anyone think they actually care about South Africans riding, no they don't, its getting cheaper for the foreigners every year with the rand weakening, so people will line up and pay whatever
  14. R475 for ESI XC FIT grips ... insane. Will stick with my ESI chunkies, don't see the supposed hype of those new ones actually being any benefit. Matched with my Northern Wave full gloves I have no issues
  15. What bar, stem and post did you get? Interested as there's not many that fit the Anthem if I'm correct, stem-wise? Thanks Rolling the same bike (2014 though), with the WL rims (RoRo and RaRa snakeskin tubeless) and 1x10 conversion, it's sitting at 11,7kg now, Large
  16. Lost my leatherman crater at red barn the weekend .. Dammit. Phoned them but does not seem like its been returned, maybe found though ... http://www.google.co.za/imgres?imgurl=http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81WzLa90F9L._SL1500_.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.amazon.com/Leatherman-Crater-C33-Folding-Knife/dp/B00H8GKYK0&h=1213&w=1500&tbnid=dRHMN1ZpMrDc_M:&zoom=1&docid=v-PSsHB76P301M&hl=en-US&ei=K7a2VLWWGsS5UbaCgZgK&tbm=isch
  17. I take it this will be SASeeding ? This is great news, this year people walked the 1st 2km ...
  18. Is there no place in SA that stocks 2.1 size Schwalbe's?
  19. I loosen both bolts on the caliper, then hold in the brake lever, and tighten the top/front bolt, then release and again hold the brake lever and then tighten the bottom/back one ... worked for me. I've also gently bent my rotors with my thumb if they touch in certain areas when spinning the wheel.
  20. These are my latest purchases, the 34T chainring and Look STrack pedals Did the black route/s at Hakahana on the week-end, that 34 made me hurt! But at least no chain drops with the clutch XT at the back.
  21. I'm 68kg, running tubes with 29er Racing Ralphs 2.25, front 1.7 and back 1.9 Ride all kinds of stuff, from road to magalies monster to hakahana trails on same pressures.
  22. Yup, would have even been 74th in Batch A out of 95, stuck in Bitch D for now ...
  23. In my case because of a better seeding batch they got maybe 3 years ago ... and now they have not trained for a year, thus me catching up with them. The only thing for me to do is to get to a better batch by hard training, and thus ensure I do not get held up again hopefully.
  24. In my case they were in front because of a better seeding, which technically means I should have never caught them ... But I'm working my way up and can then maybe avoid frustrations like this. I started in Batch D, and would have been placed 5th in Batch C with my time.
  25. It's damn frustrating ... but I guess not much you can do about it. I bombed past after being stuck behind a guy from a higher batch this week-end, and knocked my head against a branch quite hard ... serves me right for plukking my moer ...
