I've used Ardent in front and Ikons at the back, great combo for XC. Now using Schwalbe Nobby Nic in front and Racing Ralph in the back, also great combo, need to use the snakeskin version though for some protection.
I also had a great experience with Cycle lab Woodmead ordered a conversion kit for my bike, they didn't have the part and ordered from supplier, they kept me informed regularly on the progress of my order, was a pleasure to deal with them.
Hi you can try Scwalbe, Noby Nic in front and Racing Ralph, in snakeskin version as well good combo.
If it's been migrated, then yes.
Thank you Captain, sorry will this be done automatically or must i request for it to be migrated, i received no communique from Disco.
Thx once again.
Hi guys do you know if a Discovery Credit Card qualifies as a Disco bank account for gym booster?
I did the Garmin MTB race there last week, we started outside across the road from the Big Red Barn entrance, does anyone know if those trails across the road are part of the big red barn track or public trails?
Thx
My favorite combos:
Front: Schwalbe Noby Nic or Maxxis Ardent
Rear: Schwalbe Racing Ralph or Maxis Ikon
Big Red Barn has quite a few berms and they have extended their options recently.
I can second this, most fun track that i've ridden in Jhb.
I can recommend Vittorio Barzo/Saguaro combo and also maxxis ikon/ardent combo .If you ride often the continental X-king,s work well .They are light and strong but will go flat and perish if not used regularly .As a grippy front tyre Swalbe Nobby nic is also a good choice .Obviously all except the vittorio in the extra sidewall protection versions,
Hi Blitzer, on the Ardent did you ride a 2.25 or 2.4 in front? I need a new front tyre and was wondering if the 2.4 will make the bike slower due to it being chunkier. I ride mainly XC, and understand the benefits of the wider tyre for better grip but will it handicap you for rolling speed?
Thx
Went to the Bushmans river this pass weekend for some fly fishing for wild trout in the DrakensbergFishing was generally tough with the river flowing high with the recent rains, i only managed to catch two fish the whole weekend which is much less than my previous visits, not sure if there are just less fish in the river or if the conditions were just crap. I did manage to catch my PB brownie so was really chuffed as it made my weekend.
Thanks for the reccomendation guys, i need to try and source a set of the Quaxar pads from here is Jhb, Cyclosport only stocks the semi-metalic Elixer pads.
Hi guys, i currently fish the vaal river and thinking of getting a 10 footer 5 weight, any options/reccomendations for a rod decent rod under R2k? I tried my mates Stealth bomber but felt it too stiff for my liking. Thx
I changed my brake pads last night and I cant even get the rotor between the rear pads.
Im a real noob with maintenance on disk brakes but it looks like the pistons aren't going the whole way back in.
I tried pressing them back in with a screwdriver but they wont go, any advice on what to do next?
Hi Rocket Boy what make of pads did you use? I need to change mine but the Avid replacement pads are like over R300. I saw other generic makes which are cheaper but not sure on their quality or performance.
Anyone can reccomend a good aftermarket brand of disc pads?
heading for Mahai over easter.
Perfect for T.I.T.S. X 2
Great streams and trails
Hi i've been there, is this the Royal Natal Park, didnt know there trout in that river? I hope to fish the Bushmans river in April.
Yip Vaal is fishin good at the moment, i fished Arens Nes on Sunday got a few fish as well, lost plenty as the hooks opened, need to learn to tie some of my own flies on decent hooks.
Ok, so the wife has given me Saturday morning off to ride bicycles.
A bunch of you seem super keen for a Thaba lesson.
This Saturday the 24th
Time 7am - 9:30am
Run through the basics if need be.
Take a ride on the trails and work on some of the tech sections.
R350, inc entrance.
Who would be keen?
Then we get to test these sexy machines after the lesson.
Ok cool i will be keen, will send you a PM with my details.
As long as we not doing drops, as my HT and i need to learn to crawl confidently before we bunjee.
I'm sure we can gather 4-6 people. Myself, maybe Thfc & SuRomano. that leaves 1-3 more. shouldn't be a problem.
Hi Scott/Peach if at Thaba i will be keen, depending of the dates of course, but please keep me in mind.
Thx
Was a good race with great weather, thank god for that. Anyone have the details of bike service dude that was set-up near the start? I lost his contact card, i know he is from the Pretoria area.
