JHK was a once in a generation player. Not so easy to replace those. Just super exceptional almost everywhere he played. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

And as I praise Rabada he gets out. Job done though. He can be well pleased with his 30 of 84. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

I wonder if the opening batsmen on both sides are taking note. Always thought Rabada's batting was quite decent. Proving me right. KG one special player. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

Agreed there's no doubting the collective ability of our bowling unit and they still had to bowl well to get their wickets but as both Kohli and Pujara showed it's also possible to get runs. Rahane was a little unlucky but I still don't think the pitch is sub 250 first inning pitch either. That said it has been good cricket so far and we still have yet to reply. Game on I reckon. India 150/7 after 64. What a difference a few wickets make. To put that in perspective Kohli and Pujara has collectively produced a 104 runs. No one else in double figures. Either the pitch is full of demons or the Indians are having a bit of mental breakdown wrt their batting. Personally I reckon it's the latter. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

Pujara tentative and getting a shedload of criticism for it too on Cricinfo. Thought our bowling has been good for the most part barring Phehlukwayo. Hoping he'll get that sorted in his next spell. Kohli bright and breezy as per usual. I think both teams have a point to prove hence the tenseness of the match. So far so good, SA slightly ahead thanks to the dismissals of Kohli and Rahane. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

Cricinfo reporting loads of lateral movement! Not going to be easy batting on this pitch. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

Could you send some to Cape Town? Is it still raining? If play can happen it'll be one helluva juicy pitch imho and the toss may prove crucial. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

That Temba did during the last test of our ill fated India in India series. And yes his technique is sound enough to be a make shift opener but I'd much rather have him in the middle order. As for JPD he is retired from tests and I suspect that he wouldn't have figured in the selectors thinking. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

I think Ontong retired from playing in order to take up the coaching position but I suppose he wouldn't fare any worse than Khun did. So glad that experiment has been shelved! As for the Sunfoil Series isn't the one guy from the Warriors doing all right? Seemed to remember that one of those two was having a good season. Anyways I would hate to be in the selectors shoes for next week's match. A lot good players pressing for a place and not a lot of open slots. What a headache, but a good one for us fans! Isn't fast and fair the standard cricket wicket up at SS park and the Wanderers? Can't really ever recall seeing an absolute green mamba pitches there. The 1999 SA v Eng test being the exception. Indians might find themselves rueing ever having made such poor pitches when we toured there last. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

Hardik Panday made sure there's at least a match happening. It was literally his day yesterday - brilliant knock and decent wickets too. That said I wasn't all that surprised too see the Indians struggling on a good wicket against a fired up attack. Still think that their tours to us, England and Aus will show if they are the real deal or not. But, and it's a big but, they do have the players to do well on those tours. For the Indians the emergence of Panday is a good good thing as he brings much needed balance in 'Western' conditions. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk
  18. Honestly speaking a fair bit, I reckon. The Boks continued pressence in international rugby is going to require it because of government pressure. That said I sincerely don't believe that Transformation should be used as an excuse for losing. There are enough quality non white players to meet the requirements. The real question is the balance of the team and the skills level in general which needs attention. With Rassie coming back I am certain this will be a big priority on his agenda. 19. Which is why I am so excited at the prospect of him working with Mitchell at the Bulls. Handre Pollard is a wonderful talent and I firmly believe that his best is yet to come! Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk
  20. Nope. For the exception of Retallick this was the same starting XV that blackwashed us in Albany. Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk
  21. Now watching the delayed live broadcast and I fully agree but also think we made a lot of unforced errors too. After the first draw against Aus I said that we had improved and I think we can now look at the 57 0 loss as an aberration rather than that our team not having progressed enough. They have. Tonight we can be proud of our team but still there is work to be done to be better in the November tests! Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk
  22. Listening to on R2000 and i must admit that from their commentator it certainly sounds like we have given a much better account of ourselves than 3 weeks ago. This Bok team has talent, I just wish Toetie was a good enough coach to get them to be as good as the All Blacks or better than them consistently! Sent from my SM-J200H using Tapatalk

That's why I said it is a indication of how good he could become. I realise Maharaj is not exactly a youngster no more but he does have potential. Another reason the comparison fails is due to the fact he and Warne are different types of spinners with largely differing roles. But again I don't think that it's unfair too say that KM is the best spinner we have had by a long way since re-admission, his numbers indicate this currently. Let's bear in mind that the next test series post Bangladesh is against India and it should be a better barometer of where KM is in his progression as a bowler. Normally so would an Australian series but the Aussies have not that great against spin for a while now so there won't be much in that to help judge his progression. Then post that will be his first series on the Subcontinent against SL. That would also serve as a barometer of his progression. Right now, to me, he has adjusted well to playing test cricket and has produced the goods to show that he isn't just in the side to rotate out the quicks and to block an end. He's genuine wicket taker too. Will he ever be as good as Warne or Murali? Probably not but if he keeps his standard of play as high as he has, I reckon he could significantly raise the tally of the most wickets taken by a Saffer spinner to way past Tayfield's record!
