  1. When I read that, I understand that I meant "technically easy"
  2. Great going to schurter and buys on their stage wins. I think they showed everyone how to do it! The stage in question where rabon and suzi won obviously suited him, looked like he did suffer on the others. I must be a complete tool, as so kindly stated, because I can't read, especially the bit where I said the epic was a "sunday peddle"
  3. Maybe a test you can do. Calculate your own power/weight ratio, weight being you and your bike and then ride a section of trail... Step two is to add enough weight to your bike to make your power/weight ratio 10% worse and then repeat the test. Please post your results.
  4. Sure you can control the gradient of a hill on a treadmill and using the same athlete in back to back test in the lab, with the athlete knowing their exact fitness level (higher levels show less gains for more improvements) but unfortunately it doesn't allow for variables like trail (line choice) , temperature and wind variations, air density and whatever else can change. Only knowing all variables, can you safely say that an increase in p/w will yield X improvement.
  5. If you're looking for flat pedals then maybe the new stumpy 650b is for you, http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/specialized-unveils-650b-stumpjumper-fsr-evo-models-40563/ will have to ask BMT when they will arrive
  6. In cycling there can't be any real scientific studies because there are too many variables. imho
  7. There was a video a while ago about a pro rider swapping bikes with a postal service worker..... and the postman won going up a hill...
  8. If I was a pro, I'd ride whatever my sponsor gave me, and the rave about it
  9. Maybe the hub should be an active member in the sales of items.... Think of AirBNB, which you book a house and pay the website and the website handles payment to the other side. This way, the seller only gets the money after the purchaser says the item is fine.
  10. Haha, that's funny. quite a cool looking fatbike. I like the semi roadie bars on that thing. The others are shure to follow, but cannondale has been rather quiet about everything and kind of just launched the new bike, no leaked photos or anything.
  11. I grabbed "Cyclist Training Bible - Joe Friel" and will go through that and then get the others. Thanks for the info
  12. Hell Yeah!!!! and I'm gonna try not to be last! Maybe 2016, should have legs by then
  13. New catalogs are up on Cannondale SA and USA has got a little web special on the new bikes. yum yum
  14. cool, thanks
  15. When I was out riding this afternoon, a truck tyre blew up right next to me and I thought it was hubbers shooting at me or something.
  16. Can anyone suggest a good read about training, especially endurance training. ie. surviving for more than 3 ours on the bike. My background is more sprint based, as in athletics, so any guidance is appreciated.
  17. I was going to ask about this friday thing. Are all daft posts supposed to be made on fridays? Then everyone can get their panties in a bunch on the same day
  18. Many of the bikes that get stolen in Stellenbosch get moved to the Blue Downs area. Tons of high end bikes there....
  19. One day I'll be able to ride for more than 30minutes without falling over
  20. while you all were telling me I'm talking crap, I was out doing 30mins worth of HIIT on the hills
  21. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's easy like eating an icecream, but trying to figure out what type of rider stands the best chance of taking the title. Maybe all the Giro and TDF guys will be racing it soon?
  22. Shurter cannot keep up with Rabon, which means its more about engine than skill?
  23. Sure, no probs
  24. That's what he said...
  25. Not to throw bombs, but I thought Mr. BigEngine Rabon only got on a mountainbike 4 months ago?
