  6. Hi Guys, I am going to Dullstroom this weekend and permission from management to do a long ride on Saturday. I have heard about the Kruisfontein Loop, and Dullstroom to Tonteldoos rides, which both seem to be nice rides. My main concern is that I will be on my own, has anyone done these routes, are they safe to do on my own. Any other suggestions of routes in that area would also be appreciated.
  7. Bike is a Large, I am 1.80cm, always ridden on a large. The seatpost was a bit high in that pic, that was before I had even ridden it.
  8. Why do say that?
  9. My new glow in the dark Trek
  10. http://cyclelab.com/images/thumbnails/180/200/detailed/2/HELMET_RUDYPROJECT_STERLING_BLK-ORNG.jpg Just got this from Cyclelab Fourways, it was on sale for a really great price.
  11. Replaced the white ZTR Crests with some Black Arch's, much prefer the black rims.
  12. R1650 from CWC usaually R2900, they are on special at the moment. http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/suplest-crosscountry-buckle-2014
  13. Just placed the order for these from CWC for a really good price: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/sites/default/files/imagecache/product-rotational-main/product_images/02023_1er_615x395_suplest.jpg
  14. Has anyone tried the Due South MTB Shorts, and Lycra Shorts? Thy are not badly priced, but I am concerned about comfort and quality.
  15. Recently subscribed to Tread magazine, and it is much better than Ride & Bicycling.
  16. Thats not a bad price for a bike with those components.
  17. Would love to try a fat bike, but I do agree, they don't make sense, especially here in JHB.
  18. My wife is in the Medical field, so anything with a slight amount of risk is out of the question. She would love it if I didn't enjoy MTB'ing. Funny how my post on Silverback turned into a discussion about our better / other halves
  19. You're lucky, I wish I could get my OH excited about MTB.
  20. Having a Silverback may make me a bit biased, but with their 2015 range, Silverback have really improved their range significantly. I hope their "Value for money" and After sales service philosophy remains, because to me that has been their biggest plus over the bigger brands. http://www.silverbac...bikes/mountain/ http://www.silverbacklab.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/product-silverback-storm-1-732x540.png
  21. Thinking of converting my 3x10 to 2x10, anyone know where I can get a bash guard to replace my 3rd (large) chain ring. I see CRC & Jenson have them, but was hoping to get it locally.
  22. I may have found the solution, a bit pricey, but may solve my problem: http://www.buycycle.co.za/images/thumbnails/280/280/product/1/3_thumbnail_STM775PA_XT_Dual_Levers_VBrake.jpg http://www.chainreac...ke/rp-prod25712 http://www.buycycle....rs-shimano.html With this lever, you use the brake lever to adjust the gears.
  23. Thought about that, but I was hoping to avoid spending alot of money on this. SRAM are the only ones who do grip shifts, would those work with Shimano XT gears?
  24. Not physically possible with the shifters themselves, but surely one could just move the cables from one shifter to the other?
