  1. Thanks, will do
  2. Alot of reviews I've read on the GravelsKings aren't to impressed by their punture resistance and overall longevity.
  3. I have also entered the 85km, still too much excess December weight for the 160km 🙂
  4. No worries. I have a Giant Revolt so I can go up to 53mm. I tend to tide on alot of tar roads for training purposes, so I'm hoping to get a balance between rolling resistance for road, and comfort / grip for gravel rides. Hence me looking at the Pirelli Cinturato Hard 45mm.
  5. Mostly JHB area, entered gravel races in PTA and another in Magalies area. In future I'll be more specific, thanks for the advice.
  6. If I took Shebeens comment wrong way then my mistake. It was general question as to what other Hubbers are using and their general feedback, as I am quite new to the gravel scene and all YouTube videos are specific to those regions.
  7. That depends, do you give this reply to all other posts asking opinions / advace on bike related gear?
  8. Defintely shoe fit, I had the same issue, even developed a Morton's Neuroma in my one foot becasue of it. I tried moving cleats, bike fit, etc, but only once I got a bigger shoe did the problem go away. I'm a 10 in a normal shoe, cycling shoe I wear an 11, even and 11.5. Your feet swell when riding, and then create pressure, which then casues the "hot foot syndrome' which is essentially pressure on the nerve. Go one size up, and if you have wide feet like I do then try find wide fitting shoes, or ones with more compliancy.
  9. Recently purchased a gravel bike, and am interested to know what size tyres other people are using, and what brand tyres. I have Maxxis Rambler 40C, and am thinking of getting some Pirelli Cinturato Hard 45c for the upcoming gravel races I have entered.
  10. Thanks, good advice
  11. Great, thanks for that info
  12. Cracking near seatpost seems quite common, may have to rethink my possible purchase
  13. I saw that bike, unfortunately I'm a large
  14. That's a really good point to consider, thanks.
  15. I am in JHB, and true the 2x gearing is better, but I'm not a fan of the 10 speed, but I'm sure I could get used to it
  16. I prefer buying a bike that has reviews, and there a few on the Giant
  17. Seen a large at Cycle Lab in Lynwood
  18. Need to decide between the Silverback Siablo CF Apex, or a Giant Revolt Advance 3. Main differences are Silverback is SRAM Apex 1x11, Giant is Shimano GRX 400 2x10, the Giant is R2k more. Any advice, or current experience info with either of these bikes would be appreciated.
  19. I have taken the old one out so installing a new one won’t be difficult, but I am struggling to find one.
  20. Anyone know where I can get a new battery for a Garmin Fenix 5?
  21. R60 000 bike for half price.........and the wrong picture.
  22. Thanks for sharing, looks like my suspicions are correct
  23. Came across the website https://mtbwarehouse.co.za/product-category/bikes/, and some of the prices are to my mid too good to be true. Here is just one exaample: Bike Addict: Mtb Warehouse: So R30k less, how is that possible on a 2022 model. Contact info is only a cellphone number, and the physical address shows "Opening Soon" I'm all for a good deal, but remain very sceptical regarding mtbwarehouse, and am hoping to be proved wrong.
  24. Looking to buy the VP VX-5000 Race Pedal, but are limited reviews out ther, anyone used them?
  25. I too was made the promise to be paid by the 24th, via an Acknowledment of Debt letter, suffice to say no such payment has been made. I mailed the culprit, to which he responded by offering me a credit for furture events that he is planning. I have since rsponded informing him that should he not make payment by 30th June, I will take legal action against him.
