Used it for the past 2 years and no problems. It works like a charm and its cheep if you by the pap sak version of it.
  2. Get hold of Den Anker restaurant in the Waterfront. They are getting a group of 200 riders together in aid of the Bumble Bee Foundation. You can reach Rejeanne Vlietman at Den Anker Pierhead, V & A Waterfront Cape Town. 021 419 0249 www.denanker.co.za/ Cheers Ian
  3. The ghost looks sexier. I also prefer the set up and position of the front shock under the top tube.
  4. Tissot that replaced my still working Tissot. I was walking in Paris (France) with the wife and the Tissot shop just called me in. I could not help myself. Was my birthday present from me to me with lots of love.
  5. Bigger is not always better or so they say.

  8. There is a gravity specialist repair spot at Contermanskloof Farm in the shed by the farm house. you cycle past it every time ypu are on the up part of Conters. Try Cyclefunatics near Mica in D-ville or Recycles on Durban Road just below M-Kem.
  9. So since I started cycling about 3.5 years ago I have broken the following: 1 collar bone (Plate put in and taken out 6 months later)5 ribs (2 separate events)1 cracked elbow with a floating bone chip (removed 5 months later after the elbow started swelling when chip moved out of position) I sit here typing this with the stich's from the elbow opp still in. All I can say is if you enjoy MTB'ing make sure you have decent medical. I do after all the ops I have never had to make a co payment thank goodness. I am not a reckless rider and do not do stupid things. Its just the older you get the less you bounce.
  10. What area of CPT are you in?
  11. This was my very first bike and it got me hooked on MTB'ing. So you better start saving as you will soon want a ....... Saying that at the price you paid its a steal.
  12. That cause he is scared of you. Ride with your boet instead.
  13. XT. I have had the XT and the Hope and could not find any diff between the two. The XT just looks better than the SLX

    WEBIKE

We have always had really great service from WEBIKE. My wife has gotten cycling fit with a regular group of WEBIKE ladies that ride twice to three time a week in the Durbanville. Willie has always been more than willing to give FREE advice with set up changes etc. Even though his pricing was not as competitive my wife still bought all her cycling goodies there due to the great service. Is it not a thought that "the might of CWC" and their better pricing on the same stuff due to buying power has had an impact on the retail side of the WEBIKE. WEBIKE can could compete in the service area but not in the retail area. RIP WEBIKE
  17. My Wife was not happy with her SPD's and went down to WEBIKE who fitting some Egg Beater 3's. She has never looked back. Ps I ride the CB Candy 3's
  18. Get some Hope Tech X2 brakes..........
  19. I HAD the Momsen LB seat post and had a few issues with it. It fell apart during a race which was not fun. In its defence it was taking to me by creaking a bit. So if it talks tighten it up. The center adjustment screw kept on rubbing up against the base of my saddle giving me a bad ass () feeling. So I went into CWC and said sell me a Richie Black WCS and guess what no creaks and no sore / bad ass. RIchie WCS all the way. some times weight is not the only factor.
  20. Epic Bike shop in Plumstead, Western Cape (0217973804)
  21. Just ordered my Bryton 35. According to tread mags latest issue the Bryton 35 is all you will need unless you want mapping. The battery life is awesome. Tread mag compares 4 diff gps so give it a read and then decide. @ R2700.00 bundled its a steel
  22. Rules are rules, just like the one about not riding up the downhill trails in Tokai....
  23. I went into Cape Storm after seeing there huge SALE banners by there shop in Wynberg. My wife has been looking for some cycling tops with a non elastized bottom. I got two great tops at a great price. Took them home and guess what wrong size. She like them with a loose fit. Back to Cape Storm who politely point out the no refunds, return or exchange policy on sale goods goods. I just ask nicely if they could swop for a diff size. They said let us check with management and then the top said "make the customer happy" and I left with the diff size for the wife. Go home and give goods to the wife who says its still not right but she apreciates my efforts. Back to Cape Storm again and the above story repeats in store and I leave a happy customer. Back home to the wife who now says perfect fit, thanks babes. SO a big thanks to Cape Storm for allowing this husband three attempts to get his wife the correct size sail goods.
  24. I use Epic Bike Shop on Gabriel / Constantia Road Plumstead, Lance is great and always delivers on what they promise. Both Lance and Aylex cycle allot at a high level, so they know what they are talking about. You can take your bike there in the safe knowledge that it will be sorted first time.
  25. Hope Tech X2 for the past 2&1/2 years and still loving it. Oh yes they are super sexy looking to boot.
