  1. I have ridden the Hope Tech X2 for the past 2 years and never had to bleed them. Great stopping power and super cool brakes.

  3. "Congratulations, you and your team member have been Accepted into the Sani2c Trail 2012." Were in yeah baby ...... Now to pay after a holiday in France and the budget is screwed.
  4. coffee through nose moment, thanks
  5. I bought myself a Momsen , double bolt (front back) set post. I chose this one as it was super light. After a few months of a sore ass I realized that the back seat post bolt was pushing up against the base of my saddle. I readjusted the saddle andstill same problem. The seat post would creak and groan and that meant I neededto tighten it. After the umpteenth tighten the whole for the allen key startedto strip, as did my patience. A will back whilst riding I didnot pay attention to the creaking and to my detriment the seat post clamp gavein a spectacular fashion. I had to walk back up the trail and find the parts to my seat post. Thank goodness I found it all and could reassemble and carry on riding. To solve this issue I bought a Richey ALU double bolt seat (side by side), so far no issues with it. I will no longer worry about buying a weight weenie based seat post. Its the one area were you must not compromise.
  6. Went to Jnr's online office and asked there!!!!!! There website said yes , online office said sorry website was wrong!!!!!
  7. You forgot to say that you aslo won the ladies 60km, well done MTBMOM Well when I went through that section be it alot later than you the lighty still had the stick in his hand trying to get me to stop as he said I had dropped something, I told him to get lost and just rode on. before that the kids were asking for sweets which I said I did not have, then this kids pats me on my rear pocket and feels the raisin packet and tels me I do have sweets, I told him to ..... off. Next year they should have some marshalls in that section to stop all of this s..t.
  8. A while back I looked on the CWC web site and saw they had the fork in stock I wanted. So living near by I went down to the shop and said can I please have the Reba ...... Sure no problem as they check there stock on hand on the computer again. We will go and fetch it for you. Guy comes back from the depths of there store room and says sheepishly, sorry but we do not have it in stock and will only be getting them on the next shipment in about two - three weeks. Well I was a bit cheesed to say. Left the shop grumbling and went off to Epic Bikes in Plumstead who ordered me what I wanted and I got it the next day. Epic gave me great service, be it at bigger hit on my pocket
  9. Got it now thanks I was skim reading as usual and missing the important parts
  10. Just got my race number or shall I say my pain number, its C1280. Going to be a beautiful but painful ride. How many start groups are there any way for the 60km?
  11. Thats some awesome skills and balance .
  12. +1. There was the same topic on the hub before and the general concensus to just train for the distance at your race tempo!
  13. Last time we were there the cows hormones must have been off the charts as they had some real issues with us trying to get past this one section of the dam. Was classic to see my mates (wussies) taking the very long way around them. They gave us some mock charges and lots of snorting. In the end the routes at Oak Valley and what wet dreams are made of.
  14. Please take the photo with the bike on the couch!!!! Then re-post.
  15. I am mainly a Heineken kind of guy. 2nd choice is plain old Hansa and then when the mood takes I am partial to a Guinness. There is nothing better than a nice cold beer after a hard ride in summer. The next best thing is another one.
  16. The stock of the Segma's seems to have dried up with little hope of extra stock coming in. On another forum a guy spoke to the silverback agents and that the story! But saying that all Silverback bikes offer real good value and are spec'ed the best for the price point.
  17. +1, Clears mud well and is nice and grippy. Not the lightest but nice and strong.
  18. So last night just before heading off into MAJIK with a mate I decided to adjust my tire pressure on my AC Wheelset. I start to unscrew the thingy valve of my AC wheel set and then puff whiz dammit the thingy part literally blows off somewhere onto my garage floor. Now I do not have much time to find it so I go to my old XT wheel set and the valve thingy is different. Oh Crap what now. So I search the floor off the garage no luck. Reverse the wifes car out and then find it, what a relief as I was luss for a ride and did not want to have to cancel. During the ride my luck did not change as I started to get major chain suck. Saying that the ride was a blast as wet single tracks in the dark are always fun. Well at least it was dark behind us as between my mate a I we had a combined 3050 lumens of pure light ahead. guy with shades, pun intended.
  19. So this is the beasts third owner then. 1 Gogga 2 Rouxtjie 3 You Enjoy it ,Zula's rock this world
  20. I ride with X9 grip shift and X9 rear derailer and I am very happy with it. Get a decent cable and then set and forget. I have had to replace my rear derailer only due to wacking it with a rock in a stage race. It bent the cage on day one. I hand straightened it and then I could happily carry on riding. The derailer probably did not need replacement but I replaced it to rather be on the safe side. I think X9 is the same spec as XT
  21. Check out this link to the Sram site to explain what the Ti is for http://www.sram.com/rockshox/technologies/27
  22. I think the Ti means it has black box motion control. I could be wrong though. I bought the 120mm Reba RLT dual air and after setting the correct air pressure to both the pos and neg chambers it is riding great now. The more fancy the fork the more problems you can have. I went with the Reba over a new fox as it was better bang for the buck and my LBS said that with the Reba I will be happy, they were right. My Fox talus was starting to loose air pressure all the time and would only stay in 140mm travel mode. It is now sitting at Omnico waiting on a quote to sort out the issues with it.
  23. Glad to here that you are one happy camper. Time to hit the trails and enjoy your new steed. She / It looks super sexy.
  24. Your right my deal gets better then and no issues with warranty if needed as they are local. As they say local is lekker, support your LBS.
